Glossophobia
My example: She'd rather take a twenty-mile hike wearing a ten pound backpack, clean the toilet and do without her morning coffee than accept a public speaking engagement.

I did know that a group of owls is called a Parliament. I suspect they are better behaved than many human parliamentarians too.
I don't like public speaking but I can do it.
I've rarely spoken to an audience but I have improved over the years, the last being at my partner's memorial gathering.
Yes, I did know that. Owls are supposed to wise, and I should think collectively in a parliament, very wise. Our political parliaments, not so much.
Parliament yes ... and I've got over glossophobia thankfully ... nothing's easy at the moment ... cheers Hilary
I didn't know about glossophobia, but knew about a parliament from Chaucer's poem A Parliament of Fouels.
If ever I had glossophobia I have long since gotten over it. I give presentations all the time and enjoy it.
Good word!
Parliament for a group of owls--never knew that. I wonder how that came to be.
EC, Good job on both:)
Good job on knowledge and speaking at the memorial, Andrew.
Hils, Good job on knowing parliament and getting over glossophobia. And yes, nothing's easy at the moment. Cheers,
Good job, CJ. I did not know about Chaucer's poem: A Parliament of Fouels.
Good on you, David:)
No sabía eso de los búhos. Te mando un beso.
Glad you think so, Christine:)
Parliament is supposedly wise and I emphasize supposedly:)
J.P. Sending you hugs.
I knew parliament of owls. I'd probably write the same as your example for glossophobia, a word not many people would know.
Love,
Janie
Good job, Janie!;)
