How are you? Is Mother Nature being kind? We've had about 5.5" of rain over the past couple of weeks which we can definitely use. And I'm hoping we've seen the last of the 100 degree days. The butterflies continue to delight. There's been about a dozen or so hanging around the butterfly bushes, but I can't get a good group pic of them with my phone. They refuse to cluster together and smile or say cheese.
We celebrated friends' birthdays this month. The garden is between blooms and wouldn't cooperate on floral arrangements so I had to get creative. And now you know what kind of wine I like:)
Has anyone tried the cake bites? We've all decided this is our new go to for bday cakes. They come in a tray with a mix of lemon, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla bites. We found them at at Lowes Foods.

That's it for our excitement for the week. Butterflies and cake bites. What about you, blogger bud? What have you been up too?

Happy Birthday RO. I do miss her posts.
Hi Sandra - well we could do with your rain ... please send some of it - not all! Glad you're having a good time with friends and family and birthday bites - and thus Happy Birthday to RO. We've had lots of goings on here in E/b ... Red Arrows in a couple of days, while we go through another heat wave - at least it's warm, and we have the coast. Cheers for now and have a good week ahead - Hilary
Uncooperative butterflies? Bad butterflies.
Your wine labels are nice.
The cakes look like a good substitute for adults.
We've had four inches in the past couple days. Appreciate the rain though. And you drink colorful wine.
Well, the thing with butterflies is that you have to get them to say, “Nectar.” Then they all flutter daintily together and give what passes among butterflies as a smile for the camera. Right now, like us, they are not too thrilled with this deplorable heat and are not in a smiley, picture-posing mood. Who can blame them?
Happy Birthday Ro! We could use some rain in Toronto. Enjoyed your post.
Couldn't ask for more than butterflies and cake bites! Happy birthday, Robbie:)
I do too, EC.
Oh the Red Arrows will be fun to watch. Glad you have the coast, Hils. I'd be pleased to share a portion of the rain. Cheers to you.
Bad butterflies, indeed, Andrew:) I like the wine labels too:) Those cake bites are delish and purrfect if you just want a bite:)
Alex, I appreciate the rain too. I'm considering putting out my grass seed a month early. I think we are going to have an early fall. The label is eye-catching on the wine bottle, for sure.
David, Now why didn't I think of that?:)
Christine, Wishing you a nice, steady rainfall. Glad you enjoyed the post:)
Denise, Almost as good as fairies, right?
My wife and I are currently in Nee Orleans. She had breast reconstruction surgery last week by the best doctor in the country
We will be back home tomorrow

Happy birthday to Ro…a day late but, it’s a birthday week. I love that you are getting so many butterflies since we have had around 2 monarchs. We used to have a dozen so I worry bout the mighty monarch. Those cakes look so delicious especially the chocolate one…yummy:) We were supposed to go to my hubby’s Aunt’s place but the thought of a 10 hour drive and with so much to do, we cancelled it and I am so happy. I have been chilling out. Today, I will visit a friend for lunch and, tomorrow, I see the Dr. Since I am still falling asleep whenever and that’s not good. I have to try another med because, the current one I am on doesn’t do much and when I increased the dose to 2 ( with dr’s permission), I had major restless leg spasms that went to my arms and body…not good. After, hubby and I going to enjoy a DVD store and, in the evening, having dinner with friends. It should be a very nice week.
Fingers and toes crossed everything went well, Adam.
Birgit, I don't see many monarchs either these days, I'm sorry to say:(
The cakes were good. The chocolate and strawberry were my fave:)
I am so sorry you are not feeling well. Hope your doc gets your meds squared away. Sounds like you are going to have fun in spite of it. Yay you.
So glad you got the rain -- sorely needed. And three cheers to Ro. The cake bites are a brilliant idea!
