So,
I decided to hold off changing out my summer purse till the butterflies were gone.
Surprisingly, they hung around till about a week ago. I changed out and two days later saw:
one lone black swallowtail. My last sighting.

Tis the season

We had our sweet potato buddy over to install this:
And he brought us this:) Any ideas on how to fix it?

It's your turn, Blogger Bud. What's going on in your neck of the woods? Did you see the Harvest Moon? Getting your Pumpkin Spice fix?

Delicious looking sweet potato ... cook and get eating I think! The Harvest Moon was pretty incredible wasn't it ... while the weather remains reasonable ... enjoy your non-butterfly days ... cheers Hilary
We cut our sweet potatoes in wedges and cook them in the air fryer, coated with a little olive oil, salt and cayenne pepper, we bake them in the same manner as any other potato, we add them to our favourite chicken stew…..
I just returned from a quick visit to England. No sweet potatoes there. Lots of other treats there, though.
Pumpkin cream cheese just doesn't sound good...
We usually make sweet potato fries.
The black swallowtail is beautiful. I like to bake sweet potatoes or make a casserole. That big one might be enough for a casserole for two.
Hi to you my blog friend. Hugs.
sweet potato mash?
The Moon was incredible, Hils. Nice to know you enjoyed it too. The weather is grand at the moment, so I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Yup, I need to get going on that sweet potato:) Cheers,
David, Welcome back. I hope your visit was wondrous.
I like the idea of cooking them in wedges with olive oil and salt. I'm going for the sweet/salty flavor.
Genial semana te mando un beso.
I like your harvest moon picture.
How about using your sweet potato in a Vegetable Frittata?
All the best Jan
Alex, I've done kind of a one eighty on pumpkin cream cheese. I didn't use to care for it either. And I'm not sure the pumpkin soup is going to be my thing;)
Hi Natalie, The swallowtail is pretty isn't it? Yeah, I think that potato could easily feed two. It's one big potato:)
Hey Regine, How nice of you to stop by. How are you?
What a fun post. That purse is cute. Peel the sweet potato and cut into big slices (cutting in half works best and cutting from there) and then into either julienne strips or dice. Pan saute till they are soft to eat. OR take the half-rounds (cut in half and then slice so you have sort of half-circles), place "upright" in a round dish with slices of onion between each sweet potato slice, pour a bit of olive oil it and sprinkle herbs you might like. Bake till done (can't remember how long, but I'd say 350 for about an hour.)
Christine, There ya go:)
Thanks, JP. Sending you hugs.
Thank you, Jan:) Oh my, a Vegetable Frittata sounds delish.
Oh, this sounds good, Jeanie. Thank you!
I'd hate to give up the pretty butterfly purse! I looked out at the moon for a brrief moment but didn't get a pic. I c ook sweet potatoes same as potatoes. My favorite is to slice them up with onions and garlic and fry or sauté them. Xo
I was toying with that too, Denise. Basically fixing them like fried potatoes....xo
