Writerly Wednesday AND Did You Know Thursday

What's your word, example or synonym for:

My example: He was such a whiffler in college. Always hopping from one major to another.

AND

Did you know, Amelia Earhart worked as a visiting professor at Purdue University?

*What I find  astounding about this is that I worked at Purdue for many years and had no idea.

I think it’s safe to say that there is a whole cadre of whifflers in Washington today, listening intently for the chief whiffler to change his mind, sometimes several times a day. Thus, whiffling has become the main strategy for self-preservation, with appropriate obsequious demonstrations of bootlicking, and ring-kissing. It is possible that there will soon be a Department of Whiffling. There are so many candidates for Secretary, the post will be filled in no time at all, possibly without a hint of a whiffle. Amelia Earhart used to be a visiting professor at Purdue University, doncha know? Bet she never whiffled.

Well done, David. I agree, Amelia wasn't a whiffler. And I'll be on the watch for that Department of Whiffling. Heh.

Jamie, My understanding is Purdue is taking part in another exhibition to solve the mystery. We'll see what happens this time.

Isn't that something. What years was he there? He was in Chemistry right? They have excellent sciences. We might have passed each other on the side walk:)
