Ketch-Up Day

How are you?  What's your weather like? Don't worry if you don't like it, it will probably change tomorrow;)

We've got a few flowers popping up in the garden.  Though, they are in the minority compared to the weeds. Heh.

AND

A nonpolitical FYI on the 'Real ID'.

I'm mentioning this because of the confusion that swirls around the real ID and hopefully it will be of help if you haven't gotten yours and plan to. We got ours in the works last week. I say in the works because we were basically given a 'temporary'  (a piece of paper with  current information) until the ID arrives. We took our drivers license, passports and proof of current address, which  can be utility information, insurance etc. Mine went fine. But because the HH's passport showed his middle initial instead of full middle name, therefore not matching his proof of current address and drivers license to the letter, he had to go home and get his birth certificate.  So make sure your name on all your documentation you take in is exactly the same.

My understanding is: that a real ID is basically a standardized ID for airline travel. It is not required for voting or registration. Although, it can be used as your photo ID when voting. It is also used at some military bases, some federal buildings and nuclear facilities.

Hope this helps.

We got ours years ago and yeah, you need a lot of identification.

Our weather is decidedly unspringlike, but last night at our naturalist club meeting, I learned that a fellow I knew quite well had died a mere four weeks after being diagnosed with Stage Four Prostate Cancer. Come to think of it, the cold winds and snow are terrific.

Hi Sandra - interesting requirements re your ID ... I use my bus pass thankfully! I am registered though - we have local elections in May: who knows what that will bring ... life is changing. But thankfully the weather is warming up, though the north and Scotland may have snow this week and we'll be colder - c'est la vie at this time of year, but the flowers are coming up and the fresh green leaves are popping out!! Cheers Hilary

You're so right about the weather. Lately, ours can change 20 degrees in 24 hours.

Our weather is all over the map. From freezing last Friday morning to upper 80's over the weekend.

When I got my Real ID seven years ago, I ran into a similar problem. Almost all of my IDs have L. Diane, including the driver's license I was trying to renew. I needed my full name on two and all I had with me was an expired passport. I had to go back a second time with my birth certificate.

Such a sweet pussy cat. Love seeing your flowers as we have nothing here. Yesterday, it was snowing. My pain was bad this past weekend but it is better now. Hmmm,,, can you use that one ID for everything? That makes sense.

Alex, For sure.

I'm so sorry for your loss, David. It does put things in perspective, doesn't it?

Yay for spring. Fingers crossed you get some good officials, Hils. Cheers,

Natalie, It's crazy for sure and I'm very afraid it's only going to get worse.

Di, The weather is all over the map for sure.
Your real ID sounds exactly like the HHs.

My pleasure, Christine. Hope it helps.

Beautiful photos. The cat is precious. It is cold here in Montreal, but I am not complaining, because it is the extreme heat that concerns me.

After some lovely sunny days as I sit typing the wind is howling and rain is coming down ... think I'll go and make a nice cuppa.

Nice to see your flower photograph.

All the best Jan

Birgit, Glad you enjoyed the flowers. So sorry you had a painful weekend. No on the ID. I wish it did. It's basically a drivers license.

Sandra Cox said...

CJ, Yay for the sunshine. Boo for the snow. Happy Spring indeed:)

Thanks, Linda. I'm all for moderate temperature:)

Jan, A nice cuppa sounds like a plan.

Those flowers are fantastic! And I love the photo of Captain. I've heard if you have a passport you don't need a real ID but I suppose they are worth getting, just in case. These days I think we all need all the ID we can get.

Sandra Cox said...

Jeanie, Agreed on not needing if the real ID of you have a passport. We needed to make a change on our drivers license so just went ahead and did it.

Denise, My flowers thank you:) And Captain would have appreciated your sentiments:)
Did you have to make more than one trip or long wait for the real ID?
