Ketch-Up Tuesday

How is your week shaping up?

Nothing too news worthy here. Haven't made the NY Times Best Seller list. Haven't won the lottery. 😆

Momma, Poppa, Sibling Fox Sparrow and Mike and I have been keeping an eye on the baby.  It looks like the only thing keeping him from flying is very short tail feathers.  He hops and flutters around the backyard like a fiend.  He's very vocal when he's hungry and mom is still feeding him so maybe he's not as old as he looks.

As far as I can tell we've got baby bluebirds too.  Mom keeps sticking her head into the bird house with worms de jour dangling from her beak.  And though I've never seen birds going in or out, there's stuffing coming out of the birdhouse out front.   The little birdies have been busy:)

Totally off topic, has anyone tried Asiago rolls to make their toast with? It pairs well with pb and j 😏

May's calendar pictures.

AND

The month long poetry challenge is over.   Here's one last rendition from the HH.

Backwards

Paleontologists tell us

That birds descended

From small feathered dinosaurs

If that is so,

What grisly creatures

(Ones before the humanoids)

Did we emerge from?

Then again,

Considering the damage done,

Maybe there is reverse

Evolution at work

And we are the grisly monsters

Take special care, Blogger Buds.  Inquiring minds want to know how you are doing.

I like Asiago bagels. Usually just put cream cheese on them.

The Asiago rolls are alien to me but they sound nice.
It is for you time for baby birds to appear. Enjoy them until they fly away.

Baby birds grow fast and can be almost as big as their parents rather quickly. I'm sure that little guy will find his wings soon.

I love watching bird nests, feels like extended family. Ww have one tapping away building right above my desk in the attic. Will have to close the up with some screen after the babies fly away. Loved the poem and sometimes, I wonder just that. Xo

Ooh, I do too, Alex. And you can't go wrong with cream cheese:)

They are nice, Andrew and I do enjoy the birds and their little ones. Take care.

Thanks, Di. He sure covers a lot of ground hopping and fluttering:)

Those birds find the most fascinating spots to nest don't they? I wouldn't have thought about your attic. It always surprises me when they nest in the rose bushes. You're right, Denise, they do feel like extended family. Glad you enjoyed the poem. xo

Sorry I'm late visiting. Was sick all day and slept with Squiggles to keep me warm.

Sounds like this post is for the birds! Of course,. I like HH's poem.

I hope there are no cats wandering around where that young sparrow is still figuring out how to fly. I eat Asiago cheese but I have never had Asiago bread in any form. I can’t imagine it would be anything but good, though. The poem is terrific!

Oooh. Asiago rolls. No, never made toast with that but I bet it's fantastic. And I hope those baby birds make it! Glad you've got an eye out for them.

Lot of fun bird activity in your yard. I saw bluebirds in January, but haven't seen them since.
