Ketch-Up Tuesday

How is your week shaping up?

Nothing too news worthy here. Haven't made the NY Times Best Seller list. Haven't won the lottery. 😆

Momma, Poppa, Sibling Fox Sparrow and Mike and I have been keeping an eye on the baby.  It looks like the only thing keeping him from flying is very short tail feathers.  He hops and flutters around the backyard like a fiend.  He's very vocal when he's hungry and mom is still feeding him so maybe he's not as old as he looks.

As far as I can tell we've got baby bluebirds too.  Mom keeps sticking her head into the bird house with worms de jour dangling from her beak.  And though I've never seen birds going in or out, there's stuffing coming out of the birdhouse out front.   The little birdies have been busy:)

Totally off topic, has anyone tried Asiago rolls to make their toast with? It pairs well with pb and j 😏

AND

The month long poetry challenge is over.   Here's one last rendition from the HH.

Backwards

Paleontologists tell us

That birds descended

From small feathered dinosaurs

If that is so,

What grisly creatures

(Ones before the humanoids)

Did we emerge from?

Then again,

Considering the damage done,

Maybe there is reverse

Evolution at work

And we are the grisly monsters

Take special care, Blogger Buds.  Inquiring minds want to know how you are doing.

Ketch-up Day

AND

I don't know about you, but I'm more than ready to see flowers blooming.  A show of hands if you feel the same.

AND

Here's this month's calendar pictures before January is completely gone :)

What have you been doing for fun this month, Blogger Buds?

I've been watching my outdoor live feed.  It's a hoot. It's set up on the porch near the cat food I set out for strays.  So far the visitors are: a Carolina Wren that hops in the bowl and gets himself a few pieces of cat food to eat, a possum and about four cats.  The HH says we need to start taking reservations since it's currently first come first served.

What about you? Do you have an outdoor live feed?

 Stay warm....

Ketch-Up Day

How are you? I feel like I may need an exorcist the way the weather is causing my head to spin. We dealt with drought conditions and mandatory water restrictions this summer then in the last few weeks we've had over eight inches of rain and now heavy rains, storms and tropical cyclones are heading to North Carolina at the end of the week. Though probably nothing like what Florida and the more southern coastline have experienced.

August Calendars

 Yes, this is true;)
This is a D.L. Finn calendar. (Thanks, Denise:) August may be my favorite picture and photo so far.

Ketch-Up Day

We have several of these guys hanging around the neighborhood.  Do you have bluebirds in your area?

How is your week going? Feeling okay? Doing anything exciting?

Same ole, same ole here. Read, write, reset.

AND.....

Frank overseeing the unloading of groceries.

Lots of rain last week.

Added to the water that was already in it and the rain 'barrow' overflowed.

Does anyone grow rosemary? Mine blossomed this year. I've had rosemary for years, as you can tell by the size of my 'bush', and it's never flowered before. I didn't even realize they had flowers. The heavens and the climate must have aligned this year.

March calendar shots.

I got to see my bro and SIL from Illinois last week and on another day went out to lunch with buds. Definitely a good week. Hope yours was.

That's all, buds.

It's Ketch-up Tuesday

I trust you had a lovely weekend and have a productive week. Knock on wood, it's quiet here. We've got baby blue birds and Carolina Wrens. Have you got baby birds?

AND

For the vegetarians out there. Have you seen or tried plant-based crab cakes. They're not bad.

AND lastly:

This is a two-parter. For you thriller readers out there. Have you read author Saul Herzog?  The HH read THE ASSET and raved about it. It's now on my TBR. That was the first question. Now for the second. Who do you think Saul Herzog really is? He's cloaked in mystery. I've got a theory. I'd like to hear yours.

It's Ketch-up Day

Happy May! How was your weekend and Monday?

We got to spend time with the grands, and their parents, this weekend and had breakfast with an old friend AND chatted with relatives so we had an excellent weekend.  Monday...got to do those chores that got ignored over the weekend. Oh yay:) What about you? How was your weekend? How is your week progressing?

The kids wanted to go to the Painted Peacock so we went and had all kinds of fun. If you aren't familiar with it, you pick out pottery that is offered for sale,  paint it and leave it to be fired. It's available for pickup four days later. I painted a mug in blue and yellow to support Ukraine.  It was actually lavender and yellow but I was assured it would be blue after it's fired:)

From there it was on to the Sweet  Frog for a tasty treat.

Then home where the parents kindly sprang for pizza. Yay.

AND

Can you believe it's May?

AND

It's BURRO AWARENESS MONTH.

AND

The HH gave me an early Mother's Day gift. I'm having problems getting good produce in the grocery stores so thought I'd give growing blackberries a shot. Anyone out there grow them?
