Hoping all the special dads out there had a wonderful Sunday. What did you do to celebrate?
Friday we hooked up with friends that we get together with once a month and go out to eat. This time one of the guys volunteered to have us at his house. Oh my. Great food. Great presentation. Great fun. Below are the first two courses.
This was the first course: Peach-champagne cold soup.
Second course was a delicious salad.
And from there I stopped taking pictures and concentrated on eating.
The main course consisted of meatloaf--which I passed on. Heh--mashed potatoes and green beans and chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. The only thing that wasn't fresh or made from scratch was the rolls, iced tea and ice cream.
AND
As always, a few pics from the garden.
This Iris is either very early or very late. Any hoo, I'm glad to see it.

The critters taking over my chair:)

From Kansas
Thanks, Donna
That's all for now. Have a grand week.

As always, beautiful garden shots. I get crowded out by my furry residents too. That lunch looked amazing. What a flare for presentation!
Hey Denise. Waving. My garden thanks you:) We got a little rain today. Woot. Woot.
The critters do manage to get where they want to be, don't they?
The lunch was amazing. It just blows me away that he went to all that trouble.
YOU have a creative one;)
How gorgeous your garden is. 😍
The china really elevated the meatloaf, I'm sure. Beautiful flowers, but the white iris is spectacular. Enjoy your weekend
Me enamore del perrito me recuerda ami Franchesca. Te mando un beso.
What a great home cooked meal. Now, have you began your own menu planning?
Thank you so much, Linda:)
Hey CJ, I love that china:) He has a gazillion different sets.
I'm just stunned the iris decided to bloom now and some of its pals are getting ready to as well. Maybe because it was such a cool spring ......
I was expecting you to say something French for the main course, meatloaf!? OK, I like meatloaf.it sounds like a wonderful time. We just took it easy and I thought about my dad.
Love your pics and love that dark red Iris. I also love that fish...is that attached to the eavestrough? I love how we maje sure we don't disturb the pussy cats rather than move them.
Awww. Sending hugs, JP:)
Hey Andrew, It was truly wonderful. I'm afraid guests of mine would be lucky to get pizza and a salad. Heh.
