The economy has taken a toll not only on the livelyhood and self respect of adults, it has often in many cases caused folks to have to give up their beloved pets. There is a group out there trying to make a difference. If you or someone you know is in this precarious situation, you might want to check out this group at:
Also next time you're looking for that special gift for a friend or family member why not try the Greater Good Stores. You can either help:
Breast Cancer
Child Health
Literacy
or
The Rain Forest

Excellent picture and excellent information!!!
Oh, I know, it's been bad everywhere. Fortunately, we have no-kill shelters unless the animal is sick or dangerous.
Ah, too cute, Sandra.
Thanks for the link. It's great to remind people with animals that they have options.
Hugs
This subject has really worried me. For awhile I was really afraid this would happen to us but we got finally got a loan remodification. I'm glad to know about this group. It's really needed.
Thanks, Anny:)
Julia, thank goodness for the no-kills, but I'm betting they are overrun right now.
You are welcome, Taylor.
Ash, I'm glad you're squared away. The emails that come through the rescue links are heartbreaking. Folks that have to leave their homes and can't take their beloved pets. Folks that don't care and just leave the animals in the backyard when they go and don't look back, or take them to a kill shelter or just turn them loose. Its gut wrenching.
