October 1st

Can you believe we're into October?  My first clue: my toes started getting a bit chilly in my sandals and sadly I've had to trade in my shorts for jeans. But on the plus side, I'm going to the NJRW conference the middle of the month. And since I'm flying into Philly, I'll get to see my daughter and her significant other.  Anyone else out there going to this particular conference?

On a totally different note, did you see on yahoo how to tell if an egg is still good or not. If not: If an egg floats in a bowl of water, its gone bad. If it sinks to the bottom of the bowl its still good. It has to do with the porousness of the egg shell and the liquid evaporating and being replaced with air. Anyone care to expound on this?

Love the pumpkin photo. I can't believe it's October already. Roll on summer :)
Yes, it's to do with the air in the eggs. We used to test eggs that way on the farm. Cracking a rotten egg is really icky!!

you're still wearing sandals? It's only 10*C here and they say we might even have zero on saturday night :) We've turned on the heating today
