I'm not against his freedom, but I'm confused. How could this group just let him go in the wild? If he was used to humans feeding him, how will he survive? Shouldn't he be at some sort of wild cat santuary where he can be transistioned to the wild?
I agree with CJ Kennedy. It would be irresponsible, even cruel, to turn the cat loose to fend for himself after spending his life in captivity. There must be more to the story. I suspect that charitable organizations like this one produce these vignettes to tug at our heartstrings and elicit donations without presenting all the facts. Nevertheless, the piece is worthwhile, because it reminds us that every living thing is entitled to its freedom.
I worried the same thing as CJ, but I noticed the fence in the background and assumed he'd been released to some kind of sanctuary. I'm sure all of the details are available through the link. What a horrid life chained in a truck!
I can see he is in a sanctuary. This was my concern when I was first watching this but I have seen these shows and they don't let them run wild because they are too tame. When they come up to their destination on the boat, one can see it is some reserve. When they let him out, he is still fenced in but no longer needs to entertain us morons by jumping over a chair while getting the whip. Good for this organization and others who save these animals
I read you reply to CJ. I suppose the producer of the piece should have made it clear in the text that the cat was released into a reserve. It's still captivity but, in this case, necessary, and a much better environment than before.
He was beautiful indeed, Elizabeth. I really appreciate the folks that give so much of themselves to make sure these creatures live out the rest of their lives in contentment.

I wondered the same thing, CJ. But there's a fence in the background so I believe he did go to a sanctuary.

What a sweetheart! I'm glad he's at least back in touch with nature again.
Having space to roam (even if there are fences) I am sure is heaven to him compared to living chained in a truck.
