Is anyone else out there tired of picking out gift boxes and cookies or is it just me? Captcha is appearing at nearly every blog I visit, but not all require verification. If verification is showing up on mine, please let me know and I'll try to turn it off. Sometimes the simplest things allude me. Or delude me:)
Okay enough grumbling, on to the advertising piece of the show:) Both Queen of Diamonds and Love, Lattes and Mutants are on sale for ninety-nine cents. Queen of Diamonds will be on through the 7th and Love, Lattes and Mutants till the 31st.

Sadly you can't turn off Captcha. It comes and goes at blogger's whim. Try wrestling with it in a language not your own. Now that can be challenging.
ReplyDeleteYou really are putting temptation in our way aren't you?
Oh yeah, that would be a challenge.
DeleteAs far as temptation...I'm trying. Grin.
Captcha is Blogger's child, and won't let himself be turned off! Those books sound like a bargain, off to visit Amazon....Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThanks, Val! FYI: If you had picked up A Matter of Taste don't waste your dime on Queen of Diamonds. It's part of the anthology.
DeleteBlogger will put verification, especially the picture one, if you leave too many comments around the blogosphere in a very short time :) But it lasts just for that day or shorter.
ReplyDeleteOh joy. Grin.
DeleteThanks for the info, Dez.
Unfortunately, you can't turn it off. It appears after making twenty-five or more comments a day. Pat Hatt and I have talked about it several times since we both go way over that number. Makes me thankful when I hit a Wordpress blog.
ReplyDeleteI don't see how you and Pat keep with blogs like you do. Kudos to both of you.
Deletedoesn't bother me.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good thing:)
DeleteI don't like the Captcha. Especially when old eyes can't decipher the code and have to keep hitting refresh to find something "legible"
ReplyDeleteIndeed. It's a pain in the arse isn't it?
DeleteYeah, the stupid arse captcha shows when you go to too many blogs. Such a pain in the butt. Yours has actually captcha words though and not the dumb pics, weird.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat. Can you skip it on mine? I know on several of the blogs you can just ignore it.
DeleteMade it in free and clear....Blogger is an idiot's child for sure.
ReplyDeleteSince I am new here, which books are part of an anthology? I do like to read these, and mysteries and......well, I DO like to read....LOL
Thanks for the visit and the comment, to answer your question: Just before Christmas they (City) called and said not to drink the water, they had found traces of coliform...not really harmful, but sometimes a forerunner of something else. They had it cleaned up within a few days and that is why our water smells like bleach now. We WON'T drink it.
Have a great day!
Hi Krisha,
DeleteThanks for the interest. I read a lot of mysteries too. Lots of good mystery authors out there. Queen of Diamonds is part of A Matter of Taste Anthology.
Thank goodness your city was pro active on the coliform. I'm with you, I'd be getting bottled water too. Hope everything is totally back to normal soon.
JUST read your comment. Feel free to use Einstein!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, Valerie! That will be perfect!
DeleteI'm a Wordpress girl so I never did understand how Blogger's captcha works.
ReplyDeleteLove your Mutant series :) and I just grabbed Diamonds from Amazon. It sounds great! Finishing up another read and then this will be going to the top of my TBR!
Happy Tuesday!
Awww, thank you, Mae:)
DeleteI've only encountered the boxes and captcha words on blogs where the comments are revealed in pop-up boxes like mine. They may be on more than that, but I've only seen them once or twice, so the comment about visiting too many blogs at once may hold true.
ReplyDeleteI had NO idea you were a writer, much less a published writer. Your Queen of Diamonds was a fun read. Now I know where the title came from.
Thank you! I really appreciate you reading it and the kind comment.
DeleteLoved the read Sandra, can't get to the sales it's still pouring with rain here.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Thanks, Yvonne.
DeleteI have no idea if people come across captcha words when they visit my blog. OK I wish I had neat dolphin eyes
ReplyDeleteI don't remember seeing capcha at your place, Birgit.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure dolphin eyes can't compete with your own lovely ones.
I've read Love, Lattes, and Mutants and y'all should read it, pronto! $.99 is a great deal!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Steph:) Smiling.
DeleteI've been meaning to read one of your books but, then got busy with the holiday. Maybe, now is a good time.
ReplyDelete:) Thanks for the interest, True.
ReplyDeleteThe craziest part about captcha is that I often don't get it all right! I think I am good, but I miss one. lol. I am not a fan of captcha- but I know that it sometimes gets turned on without people realizing it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Hope the book sales are going well!!
~Jess
I'm not a fan of captcha either, Jess.
ReplyDeleteThanks:)
I'm definitely not a fun of captcha. I'm seeing these new versions floating around where you click a box that says "I'm not a robot" lol. Those seem to work easy enough.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful New Years!
