Movies We've Seen

The Equalizer

I love Denzel Washington and I liked the premise of this movie, man comes out of retirement to right wrongs.  I felt it had a lot of potential, but for me the storyline got lost in the violence.

London Has Fallen
My main complaint: I got tired of the F Bomb being dropped over and over again.

Allegiant
This YA movie is from the Divergent Series.  I enjoyed it.  The HH had trouble following the plot.

Oh dear, I haven't seen any of them - I don't go to the movies, so need to wait till they get shown on Tv, and that can take years....Happy Day, hugs, Valerie

I am not going to admit how long it is since I have seen a movie.

I haven't been to the movies in years, I do see movies on TV, but afraid not the ones here.
Have a great day/

Agree with you on the first one. We haven't seen any Divergent movies though. After the first Hunger Games film, my wife refuses to watch any film based on a young adult book.

The Denzel movie looks the best to me.

There is nothing wrong with swearing, where appropriate. But why on earth do movie makers think that every second word in a movie should be f***? And that goes for on stage comedians too. It is a word best saved for real impact, not as a part of everyday speech.

I actually liked the first film because he was this type of person who used to live in a violent world. He wants to escape it but can't and glad he is there to help the underdog as it were. I haven't seen the other 2 but Morgan Freeman is in that 2nd film so all should be aok in the film world....just kidding. I don't mind the F bomb when used here and there but when it is used for no reason other than as a filler, then I say.....bleccchhhh.

Ah, the Denzel Equalizer is based on a television series from the 1980s by the same name. The TV Equalizer was played by Edward Woodward. Loved that series.

Daisy wanted to see it in theaters but we never went. I thought they were going to call it part 1 and part 2 but they smartly changed the title of the 2nd movie

My husband loves to go to the movies, so I try when something looks/sounds interesting. We like different kinds. I don't like superheroes, chick flicks, animation, but kind of quirky and suspense. The movies are so loud today it is almost painful. TV has such good shows now, I'd rather binge-watch or rent them.

I found the first okay, the second was enjoyable enough but yeah, the f bomb did get dropped a lot.

We use red box a lot. Do you have a red box there?

Ha! You make up for it by all the books you read:)

Any movies that have stood out for you, Yvonne?

I was disappointed in it. That film had a lot of potential.
She probably wouldn't have enjoyed Divergent if she didn't like Hunger Games.
Have a great one, Alex.

It started out well.......

I totally agree, Andrew. Too much of anything in a movie or book notches down the tension.

I wanted to like it. I liked the premise, but I felt it got lost in the violence.
Love Morgan Freeman:)

I'd probably like the series. Again, I liked the premise.

Allegiant is the third book in the series, isn't it?

The HH liked the first one too.

I watched London is Falling recently and there was just too much blowing up of everything for me. I did watch the first two movies in the Divergent series.

Thanks for the reviews Sandra! I have seen all the Divergent Series, except for this one! Big Hugs!

Sandra Cox said...

Yup, there was a lot of blowing up.
For some reason, I liked this movie better than the second, in the Divergent series. Overall, I enjoyed it.
Have a good one, True.

I liked this one. Have you read the series, Stacy?
