Have you seen this yet? Oh my gosh, best film ever. I was ambivalent about seeing it.How much tension could they bring to an 'after the fact' film? It wasn't an adventure or natural disaster film. The disaster has already occurred so what's left to hold our interest? Plenty! And if you don't care for insurance companies now, this film isn't going to make you warm up to them. Tom Hanks, who is always stellar, outdoes himself. I look for Oscar nominations for this one. Highly recommended.

As Sarah Miles drives down Eighteenth Street a stranger materializes in front of her car. She throws on her brakes, braces for impact and...drives straight through him. For a brief moment, his voice echoes in her head, "Saura." Then he's gone. Later that day, she discovers the SUNDIAL and her incredible journey through time begins.
My friend Sally and I saw it last week. My Ph.D. is in Human Factors, and I about fell onto the floor (we saw it in IMAX) when I heard "Sully" say the human factor. I was so, so impressed. Yes, I also would highly recommend it, too, but I'm a bit prejudiced, as you can tell!
Oh, a must see, if Tom Hanks is one of the pilots. I remember the incident reported even in our news, back in 2009. Thanks for bringing it to our attention! Now flying over to Mae's blog.
EC, isn't it a movie release here? Sandra, your first paragraph interested me in the movie. Your last paragraph indicates that is about para normal, spirits etc, so I am not sure. I never watch trailers, so I will see what else is written about the movie.
That's good to hear about Sully. I did wonder the same thing when I saw the trailer. Even when it happened, the media talked about it for MONTHS. It was definitely a feel-good story but I got so sick of hearing his name every five minutes! I do like Laura Linney, though (I know, odd, random choice!), so I'll definitely see it.
Great minds think alike! My hubby and I saw it on Friday (our 10th anniversary). It was well acted and I really liked Aaron Eckhart playing the co-pilot. The frustration of the hearings really shows what these co-pilots went through after the crash and I think it was done brilliantly. It is not an action movie but more of introspection and quite intelligent. Clint Eastwood is an excellent director.

I'm afraid we didn't get out to see that one. Might still. Heard the other based on reality film, Deepwater Horizon, is also really good.
