Christmas on Christmas Eve

Since we planned to take a cruise to celebrate our 40th, Christmas Day was held Christmas Eve at the Cox Household. The baby girl and her husband fixed a wonderful meal that included: Beef brisket (for the carnivores) Shepherd's Pie (for the vegetarians) mashed potatoes, grilled carrots, stuffing, pecan pie and a pumpkin tart.
After the meal the evening evolved into unbridled carnage under the tree.
Below are pics of some of the fam.
This bucket was for the kiddos' packages. I glued on the snowmen, strung lights then taped on individually wrapped candy canes. The tape doesn't doesn't add to the aesthetics but it makes it easy for little ones to remove(i.e. rip:) from the tub.

What about you?  Did you have a wondrous Christmas?

That does look like fun.
Our Christmas was very quiet, but lovely.

Looks like you all had fun. Here was quiet, just me, as always, so didn't celebrate. Have a great week, hugs, Valerie

Looks like a fun Christmas Eve. I'm sure the kids didn't even notice the tape.

Because the Eldest had to work Christmas Day, we celebrated on Christmas Eve, too. Love the bucket with the loot. You might want to try glue dots or double stick tape to adhere treats, but make it easy for big or little fingers to get. Happy New Year!

So we celebrated together!
Will the dots peel off easily without tearing the paper?

It looks lovely and the bucket is a smart idea. I can tell there was a lot of love in that room -- and then a cruise to come! Wow!

It sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas and I love the Pail. I had a great Christmas and enjoyed our time with my mom Christmas Eve during the day and then we celebrated with my brother Christmas Eve which is always my Christmas. My hubby got me a nice hat and scarf set, movies and a great smile. I was so happy to fool my hubby with a gift I got him...a mitre saw table. I thought for sure he knew what was in the trunk but he didn't know. It was too heavy to bring in so I left it in the trunk of the car and wrapped up a small gift box with a note inside saying to look int the trunk:) on Christmas Day, my niece Jade and her girlfriend came over and I was able to find the words "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..." written on a wood piece in a store. I bought it for my niece since my mom always sang that to her since she was little. Jade cried when she saw this and it made me almost cry too. I was so happy to have found that. Now I can't wait to hear all about your trip.
