All things Western and more.
No, I didn't know it! Have a fun day, hugs, Valerie
I can't see any sense in the phrase at all.
So many phrases DO come from the bard's pen. And yes, a doornail is very dead (but was never precisely a sparkling character).
No, I didn't know.
I wonder what a doornail was back in his time?
No Sandra didn't know that and me being English too.Take care.Yvonne.
He made some great expressions and quotes, thanks for sharing.
I had no idea! And I had Shakespeare classes in college!
And you, my friend:)Air hug,
Ha. That's for sure.
I didn't know that!I always have associated it with A Christmas Carol:) xo
Your factoid for the day, Jamie.
Good question. The only thing I could find on it was that it's a nail with a large head.
That's quite all right. I just learned it recently myself.
My pleasure.
Who'd a thought, right?
Good association)
I didn't know that! LOL! Hope you are well Sandra! Big Hugs!
I wondered where that phrase came from. Now I know, thanks to you, dear Sandra.
I keep saying dead as a doorknob. I was corrected by either my hubby or my brother being told it’s doornail and they looked at me as if I were daft. I just said “how can it be much weirder to say door nail instead of doorknob?”
I had no idea! Cool trivia! Hugs, RO
Still standing:) Hope you are too.Hugs received and returned.
Ha. You got a point.
Entirely my pleasure, my friend.
Glad you enjoyed it, Rockin Ro.Hugs received and returned.
