No I didn't, but there have often been serious epidemics / pandemics of flu. I was very ill with Honk Kong flu when I was a kid, and had to be hospitalized. Hugs, Valerie
Thanks, Sandra! Yes, Woodstock took place in the middle of the Hong Kong Flu that killed 100,000 in the US and 1 million world wide - and nothing ever shut down. Oh yeah..I know about the Hong Kong flu and I, obviously, know about Woodstock but never thought of the timeline. I don’t ever recall my parents talking about it and I asked 3 people who were around during that time, about this pandemic and they don’t remember this pandemic at all. I like to think that the scientists and doctors took history as an example of what not to do and decided to take these measures today. The key is how lethal is this virus compared to the one in 1968. There was no social media back then and the media was different too.

I didn't. And I doubt that any of the attendees (or performers) at Woodstock either knew or cared.
Stay well, stay safe.

Hey Sandra! 👋🏻
Nope, I literally had no idea.
Fun-fact! 👌🏻
No, but I do know there have been terrible localised and world wide flu inflections in the past.
My parents remember it. Wasn't central to the news though.

I heard this just a while ago. Never knew until then.
Was that Hong Kong or swine? Interesting.
I'll will have to read up on this; I didn't know about that...
I also didn't know that
Oh my gosh, Val. I didn't know that.
Heh. I doubt that too.
That's for sure. This one scares me because its so easy to transmit.
I didn't either, until Di brought it to my attention.
YOU stay safe. Stay healthy.
I sure had no idea.
I heard that the other day.
I didn't even know about Woodstock until much later. I must live in a closet. Guess that's why I won't catch the virus.
It was news to me.
Thanks for sharing the article and the info:)
Surprised me:)
I just heard about that Sandra. Crazy.
No,I didn't know...and I was around then, in those days...not at Woodstock, of course.
Perhaps all the LSD and Mary-J protected the throngs who attended! :)
Nope. Never knew that one.
It is, isn't it, Denise? Though, that's the 60s for ya:)
I believe Hong Kong.
If you read the article though, it takes the opposite view.
I didn't !
All the best Jan
Perhaps it did:)
Yes, that was a bit of a surprise.
Stay safe. Stay healthy.
For whatever reason, I couldn't pull it up:(
Find anything more out?
Who'd a thought.
It was a surprise to me too:)
Woodstock definitely got the coverage. The pandemic, not so much.
You must be much, much younger than me, Elizabeth:)
