Rebirth and New Beginnings

About the time Captain passed, I was pruning my shrubs. Yes, it was December, but December in the South. I took a handful of the cuttings and stuck them in the ground near his grave. When spring arrived the only thing that could be seen was dry twigs peeking through overgrown grass. Finally, having enough of the eyesore I decided to clear the whole mess out.  In the middle of clipping I saw, to my surprise,  this lone bloom. It reminded me of rebirth and new beginnings, and gave me comfort.

Did anyone else see this article? I found it fascinating and hopefully helpful to folks with Covid or breathing issues.

For those on blogger, what do you think about the new setup? I think it will be fine when I get acclimated. Right now it's taking me forever to set up posts.

Thanks to Jacqui Murray for the shout out.

New blooms are always lovely, especially when unexpected. I haven't tried the new set up yet. Hugs, Valerie

That new growth would give me a HEAP of comfort (after I had wiped the tears from my eyes).
If that new/old technique works I hope it becomes much more widely known.
I have avoided the new blogger set-up so far. Yes I am a coward.

As my laptop since getting new windows have been playing up I have not attempted the new blogger set up. I will wait a while longer before taking a step into the unknown.

Hi Sandra - it always amazes me how plants always want to live on and give us pleasure. I'm not going over to the new blogger until I have to - but hopefully somewhere along the line someone will give us the ins and outs ... so glad you're experiencing it - good luck ... so glad the flowers are burgeoning as Spring moves on. Stay safe - Hilary

Yes, that method of putting patients on their stomachs seems to be very helpful. Ah, I remember something about a new Blogger format. If you weren't a writer, I would say nothing, but acclimated and not acclimatised? Perhaps it is just our different English.

How sweet!

I didn't notice anything different with Blogger. I'm just happy Google is letting me comment again on my desktop.

How wonderful that there is new growth. Almost a tribute to Captain.

I saw the proning on TV. I thought it was a good idea at the time, too.

I must live in a closet. I didn't even KNOW about a new blogger program.

I didn't try it of my own accord. Heh.

How wonderful there is new growth :)

Many bloggers are talking about a new/different set up, as yet I haven't noticed anything … but perhaps I soon will.

Have a good week.

All the best Jan

I hadn't heard of laying patients on their belly to help breathing, but it's good to know. I'm not sure I'd want to be on a ventilator.
Acclimatised. I've learned a new word.

I haven't changed to new blogger yet and probably won't till they force me! I love this post, love that you have the bloom. This is so special and just a reminder that some things never die.

Thanks for the article. I'll definitely read and save.

I will have to do some adjusting!

That is a beautiful sentiment for the first responders and everyone dealing with this virus even if we are just staying at home. I am trying to adjust to this new blogging look but I have noticed it seems to be a bit friendlier with my iPad which is good. As with anything, will need to adjust.

Google automatically switched me over. Oh Yay.
I thought lying on the stomach to help the lungs work was interesting too.
