IWSG Wednesday

The first Wednesday of every month is officially IWSG day. Members post about their doubts and fears, discuss struggles and triumphs, and offer words of encouragement to others who are struggling.

Thanks, as always, to Alex Cavanaugh, founder and Ninja Captain extraordinaire and our awesome co-hosts.

The IWSG monthly question can be found under the IWSG Sign-up tab on the Insecure Writer's Support Group Blog.  Remember it’s optional.

December 2 question – Are there months or time of the year that you are more productive with your writing than other months, and why?  Not really. What about you?

QUEST AND ADVENTURES by Judy and Keith

This is a lovely book for young people. There are a wide variety of tales including a journey undertaken by a colony of ants, talking earthworms, and my particular favorite, a young girl trying to break into the all male world of wizards. The stories are a nice length that can be read to a little one or read by young readers. And the authors weave educational facts in with the magic.

A very enjoyable read.

EMOTIONAL TRUTHS of RELATIONSHIPS by Balroop Singh

As humans our emotions are all over the boards. We love. We hate. We're happy.
We're sad. We're angry. We're ecstatic. Some of these responses make us feel good, others bad. This book breaks down our emotions  and shows different ways to turn the negative into a positive.

THE AWAY PLACE by Susanne Marie Knight

Who would expect to encounter magic, especially in the form of the east and north winds?  But that's what happens when Marta Jordan decides to end it all after a series of tragic events leaves her bereft of hope. Not only do the delightful winds--Sola and Quill--intervene, they introduce sexy Joe Noble into her life, who's dealing with his own set of issues. After that the magic begins.

This charming tale deftly combines love and magic in a modern-day fairy tale.

Thank you for fueling my bookie lust. Again.
That last is so very true, and not as simple as it sounds.

Hi,
I love the quote, You must write your first draft with your heart and rewrite with your head, That is so true, and I would add, And be prepared to rewrite it over and over until it receives life.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a safe passage into 2021.

You are so good at supporting other writers. LOVE that quote at the end, too. That's how I write and edit a lot of my blog posts, too.

Hi Sandra - I'm sure writing is like that ... write with your heart, then evaluate with your head. Take care and stay safe - Hilary

Nice reviews! Thank you so much Sandra for reviewing Emotional Truths. Often they are brushed aside in the race to success. :) Have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

The last photo with the writing suggestion works for me, who writes late at night when I am at my most creative and then fix it all up in the morning. Well, I do that sometimes.
