It's Tuesday

Hope your weekend and Monday were pleasant and productive.

The Critters

 And

Anne Frank wrote her famous diary between the ages of  thirteen and fifteen while she was in hiding from the Germans.

Have a good weekend? Did your critters? Admire Anne Frank?

Love your comfy critters. And of course I admire Ms Frank. And mourn her loss.

Fräulein Frank: Young lady, I learn from you --even though I am an old man in your far future. Yours is a spirit and intellect that could not be held down, an inquisitive mind undaunted by politically devised prejudice. Although you died very young, I speak to you as though you still live. Your influence will never end.

Do I detect some feline hostility?

Ann came to a bad end. Have you heard of the play about her that was so bad the audience yelled out at the stage, 'She's in the attic', just to get the play finished.

Well, I am proud to say I've sent my mother and wife flowers many, many times and not because they were gone!

That's a great quote. Anne Frank has always been an inspiration for me.

Her diary reads as someone far more mature than her years. Such a sad, but important story for us to remember.

She was amazing wasn't she? Glad you liked the kitty pic and hope your quiet weekend was a good one.

Thanks. She was such a loss. I'll never understand deliberate cruelty and worse to children.

And to you, Christine;)
Take special care.

The kitties look engrossed in conversation. I wonder what they are talking about ?

Sandra Cox said...

I think it goes a lot like, 'Move over. You're on my side.'

Oh, your cats are beautiful -- and that's a wonderful photo. I'd never heard that Anne Frank quote. I value and respect her so much. I cannot imagine what her life was like in those last years. And people here whine about wearing a mask.

Well said.

Unfortunately:(
Glad you like the cats:)

Innit the truth? I just don't get what the big deal is.

Sandra Cox said...

Indeed she did. I haven't heard of that play.
The cats do tend to get a bit testy at times;)

I so admire Anne Frank and read her book every year when I was in high school. I find her so eloquent and insightful. I was privileged to be able to visit where she and her family were hidden in Amsterdam. I read her book again just before going to Europe and I took every step in. The very steep stairs that they all had to use, the movie stars on her wall, the window with the church steeple showing ...I just cried silent tears. Funny, I was just thinking about her the past week, because of the people crying the blues about the pandemic. She, her family and another family were holed up in this tiny place for 4 years( I think). They could not leave, they had to remain very quiet during the day living in constant fear of being found which meant death. Sadly, all were found and all but Anne’s dad died in the concentration camps. I wish her d8ary was mandatory reading in every single school. She is one girl I admire. On a lighter note, love your pics and I had a lovely time buying flowers and visiting a friend, outside...social distancing. It was nice to see her.

I hear ya, Natalie. She fills me with both wonder and sadness.

Indeed. She sounds like an old soul, doesn't she, Annalisa?

Yes, I admire Anne Frank. I would love to visit the family's hiding place.

Love,

What happened to her, her family and so many others is just heartbreaking. And so disheartening when you think about what one human being savagely does to another.
Glad you got to visit with your friend and had a good day.

Sandra Cox said...

She was more mature than most adults. Visiting their hiding place would be quite an experience.
