It's Tuesday

Greetings, blogger buds. Ever had a senior moment?

I had one last week and got my days visiting Val and EC mixed up. Both are great buds and both were kind enough to offer to help me get the word out on Keeper. Apologies ladies and thanks for your understanding and patience.

House Arrest

Frank and Penny were under house arrest and this is the reason. Do you see him sitting over in the corner?

Last week Frank and Penny and I went out for our morning constitutional and Frank discovered a baby bird. Actually, I think it was momma, who looks like she's barely an adult herself, trying to lead Frank away from the baby. She flew up and couldn't figure out how to get out of the cat fencing. I scooped up Frank, who kindly dropped the baby or momma (I'm still trying to figure that out), then yelled for Penny, who being the stubborn hound she is, ignored me. I was starting to get frantic. She's more dangerous than Frank because she jumps on them. All seventy pounds of her. About the second time I bellowed, she fell in with me and I hustled them both inside. From there Penny could only go out on the leash and Frank on the porch. Baby and his momma took over the backyard, hopping all over the place. The second day, baby tried to flap his way out, but he couldn't figure out the cat fence either. Finally, in the evening he figured it out, much to Frank's joy as it meant Freeedom:)

AND

For the first time in longer than I care to remember the immediate family was together. The baby girl and SIL--who came in from Philly--and the HH and I converged in Greenville to spend time with the baby boy and family. Unfortunately, the baby's counts were down, which meant his immune system was too, and there was fear of new germs being introduced to his system, so we stayed at the hotel our daughter and SIL did instead of with the boy and fam. The next day we donned masks and kept a distance from the baby and we all got to spend some quality time together.  It was brief but wonderful.  What about you blogger buds? How did you spend your weekend?

I am so very glad that you finally got to spend time with your family. And hope those blood counts go up soon.
Yay for rescuing the bird - and I love your garden.

Glad you were able to recue the birds from the furry delinquents! Well done! Lovely to see them lounging on the relaxer, they know what's good. It's wonderful to be able to meet up with people again! Hugs, Valerie

Hi Sandra - so pleased you had some time with the family ... I too hope the babe pushes on to be healthier. Baby birds, dogs and cats - it's life ... but fun to see and the garden blooms. All the best - Hilary

I began by looking for a snake in your garden, rather than the bird. Well done for protecting the birds and what drama.
Your cats looked so relaxed.
Great to have a good family catch up, I'm sure.

Me too on the counts.
I was very relieved to see the baby bird flutter over the fence and into the great beyond:)
Hope you're having a grand one.

Gorgeous blooms. I'm very glad that Frank and Penny are in house arrest! Birds get a tad cranky at this time of year!

I am glad the birdies are ok and, hopefully, your babes can venture out again. That recliner does look very comfy and I could see myself laying there especially when I have to recuperate with my OJ and soda water in one hand and the remote in the other. Books and IPad beside me of course. I love your garden picks and our tiger lillies will soon be out. I am so happy you got together with your family even if you had to keep your distance from the little one. Did you hear about the shooting where a person didn't want to wear a mask? I don't know the details but the cashier is dead...just disgusting! My weekend was spent cleaning.

Sorry to read that baby grand's count and immune system are compromised, but I know it was great that you and your family were able to see each other face to face for awhile over the weekend.

Penny and Frank gave you some tense moments this week. I am glad the baby bird and it's mother are now safely gone and Frank can now go back outside. Love your flowers. They are sure beautiful and your photos are amazing, too.

So good that the birds escaped and so sad about the immune system compromised. A friend came over on Saturday and a huge thunderstorm visited on Sunday.

Love,
Janie

Thanks, Birgit. The critters are venturing out and it was wondrous to see everyone.
It boggles my mind, something as simple as wearing a mask has become a reason to shoot people. Arrrgh.

Yes and yes.
Glad you had a bud over Saturday:)

Dogs make me more nervous around birds than cats do, yet it's the cats that get the bad rap. Sigh.
Thanks, J.P. I'll send you a hug.

Yay for being able to spend time with family. That's one of the most important things ever, and creating those memories is awesome! That purple flower is simply stunning! I had a senior moment with a blogger called Bluzdude and Infidel753 one day last year. They have similar quirky personalities and edgy writing that makes me smile or think. Once I told them they should get together once a month to post something to see what happens. Anywho - I digress, as usual(lol). I realized I posted the wrong thing on a post, and had to go back to hang my head in shame, and apologize. I was all worried about it, but neither ever said a word about the whole situation!(lol) Sending many healing hugs to the little one, and a Happy Father's Day wish to your very cool hubby. Tell him to have a cheeseburger on me, Super Sandra!(lol) Hugs, RO
