It's Tuesday

 Flowers, Critters and Empty Shelves.

The Christmas roses (hellebores) are blooming.

This particular Iris is always confused about blooming time and thinks January is just a fine month to bloom in. This year I wised up and brought the buds inside when the weather turned cold. I don't know if all the buds will bloom out but at least this guy did.

What do you do with your clippings from bushes? Sometimes I stick them in the ground to see if they'll take root, sometimes I bring in the cuttings and stick them in a vase and other times they end up on the compost or trash pile.

Yes, I know my shoes have holes in them, but they are soooo comfortable:)

We went grocery shopping yesterday.  These were shelves for cat food and produce. Plenty of toilet paper though:)

And last but not least, Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girls.

 Got birthdays? Critters? Flowers? Groceries?

Happy Birthday to Libby and Jamie! The hellebores are blooming here, too. Hugs, Valerie

I wonder if you shelves are bare for the same reason ours are, not enough supermarket workers as many are isolating and not enough drivers to transport new stock.

Christmas roses, that flower at a very inappropriate time here, really are such good value.

Happy Birthday to Libby and Jamie. And you some time this month too.
Echoing Andrew. Fortunately there was plenty of cat food when we did our shopping this morning.

Happy Birthday to the girls ... but the flowers are stunning - and delightful to see - necessary at this time of year. Particularly now we too seem to have more empty shelves ... take care and all the best - Hilary

I heard there was a shortage of metal for the cans of pet food. With the shelves being bare like that, I wonder if people are hoarding pet food they way they hoarded toilet paper at the beginning of the pandemic? It also could be due to supply chain issues. There have been problems with not enough truck drivers

Wow. I knew there were shortages in big cities but didn't know it was starting to hit us so hard.

Love your roses. It's bitter cold here so nothing green is growing. Yes, it's weird how grocery shelves are empty these days.

Omword! Cat food? Wow...no shortage here yet for dog or cat food...guess we'd best stock up!

Happy birthday girls! I love my old shoes. Lovely plants.

Yikes. Maybe I should hit the pet food store sooner rather than later. She'll get cranky if she doesn't have her wet food!

I've seen some holes at the traditional grocery stores. Probably has more to do with the labor shortage

Beautiful flowers, Sandra :) Happy birthday, Libby and Jamie! I ran into empty shelves too. I got that last container of cat treats though :) There was no Greenies for the lady next to me though. Deliveries don't seem to be making it to restock, and if they do there is no one working in the stores to do it either. Crazy times. Xo

Yay, hellebores:)
Hugs received and returned.

I love Christmas roses, don't you, Andrew?
It's certainly true about not enough workers, but it's weird what is and isn't a shortage. Wet cat food and cream cheese have been an issue here for awhile now. Dog food. No problem....yet.

Sandra Cox said...

And you sometime this month:)
We've had a problem with canned cat food for several months and it seems to be getting worse. Also a problem with cream cheese. Dog food is fine.

Sandra Cox said...

Thanks, Hils.
Hope your shelves are soon restocked.
Cheers,

Maybe all of the above. The odd thing is there's no issues with dog food.

Sandra Cox said...

We've been dealing with it on and off since the get go. Glad you haven't had any issues so far.

Sandra Cox said...

Cold. Now that's a 4-letter word for sure:)
The empty grocery shelves are staring to creep me out.

Sandra Cox said...

Glad you aren't having any issues, Donna. The cat food shortage has been going on for several months here and continues to worsen. I guess we are just lucky:)

Sandra Cox said...

Old shoes are the best aren't they?:)
Thank you.
Take special care.

Sandra Cox said...

You are most welcome.
Have a Happy Day, Jamie.

It's been going on here for months, gradually getting worse. Toes crossed your area won't get hit. But yes, Lizzie definitely would not understand why she wasn't getting her wet food;)

The flowers are beautiful, there are no flowers here. Snow is covering the ground and it’s extremely cold.

I laughed at the comfy shoes, my moccasin are worn but, I still wear them. Sometimes it is about comfort. I guess , I am emotionally attached to them.

Sandra Cox said...

Could be. Whatever the reason, it's getting frustrating. There's been a canned cat food shortage here for months.

Sandra Cox said...

Thank you:)
She can have my Greenies. My cats don't like them;)
Glad you got your kitty treats.
Crazy times indeed.

Happy Birthday Ladies, and hope your day is fabulous! Shoes and socks with holes are absolutely the best and most comfy for sure. Your cats are so adorable and look like they love having their pics taken. I noticed the shelves are looking a little bare too, but no problem finding toilet paper and cleaning supplies. Hope you're doing well, and sending lots and lots of hugs, RO

Sandra Cox said...

And that's another thing:) When they stock the shelves it's with one brand, one flavor. Great for folks that don't have finicky cats. Sputter. sputter.
Beach crocs, hey? I like crocs. I'll have to check them out.

Sandra Cox said...

There ya go, using that 4 letter S word;)
Right there with ya on comfy shoes.

Sandra Cox said...

You must have known I was thinking about you:) Thanks for stopping by, bud.
Hugs received and returned.

Sandra Cox said...

PS. Glad you like the flowers.

I liked the flowers, but the pets--perfect. And our shelves have no bread! I used to make bread. Maybe it's time to try that again.

Sandra Cox said...

No bread! Ouch.

First off Happy Birthday to the gals, Libby and Jamie! I hope they had a wonderful day. I love the pics of your cats and who cares if there are holes...they are comfortable and that’s what counts. You should see my best friend’s slippers. I’m glad you brought the flowers in but surprised they are blooming. The weather is crazy here...it was -17 this morning but tomorrow and Thursday it’s supposed to be 7 before going back down to a high of -10. I hate the yo-yo weather but I can’t change that nor can any of us. I love your pussy cats and hope you are doing really well. I’m still taking down Christmas decorations..hahahaa.

I do like them. We once had a decent sized planting of them. They made winter a bit special.

Yes, the shortages are odd.
