It's Ketch-up Day

Hope you enjoyed your weekend and your Monday was a good one.

Here's more pics from the sanctuary.

AND

You may or may not know that April is Poetry Month. The HH's chapter has committed to writing a poem a day. Here's one of his I particularly liked:

MJCox

Old Dog

Thunder rolls through the darkening air.

The old dog quickly slips under my desk,

Her teeth chatter with long ago memories

Of the chaos of her early life before we found her.

She stays curled up for the duration of the storm,

And I stroke her head to remind her she is home.

What about you, Blogger Buds. Visited any sanctuaries? Written any poems for Poetry Month?

Hi Sandra - it's good to see more of the Sanctuary; then HH's poem - lovely thought on the 'Old Dog' - they love being with us ... cheers Hilary

the sanctuary looks like a lovely place to visit. HH's poem invokes beautiful imagery.

I did visit a sanctuary and blogged about Moonlit Sanctuary.
The poem is good. One of dogs was 'gun shy'. That is terrified by thunder and firework noise. He could not be comforted no matter how hard we tried to reassure him. Our other dog was not bothered at all.

That is a nice looking sanctuary, and a lovely poem!

To answer Donna's question, I believe one's home is their sanctuary.

Thanks, EC:)
CJ,It is a lovely place, for sure. Thanks, I thought his imagery was spot on. doesn't he?
Andrew, They all have their own personalities, don't they? I'm going to have to checkout the Moonlit Sanctuary. We give her a calm down and that seems to help.
Hils, They do indeed.
Donna, You bet.
Natalie, It was a lovely place. Glad you enjoyed the HH's poem.

Thanks, Lon:) Our homes should always be our sanctuaries, shouldn't they?
I'm glad, Christine. Thanks for letting me know;)

So if there's a sign on the "secret" garden, is it really a secret? LOL.

Not so many bird sanctuaries around here. Your pictures are lovely. We've seen a ton of activities with our local birds, hawks, wood peckers, cardinals, jays, etc. We have several nests going in our houses out back as well.

Adam, No poetry, but lots of great info to share on your end.
Juli, Heh.
Watching those nests will be fun:)
