I didn't know that about elastic bands. And we have toooo many gubbins (also known as thingamajigs around our home.
Hi Sandra - I am in EC's camp ... we have enough plastic bands from the postmen dropped at will ... but I didn't know about the chill aspect. Gubbins - yes ... I haven't used it for a while ... but it's one of those words that might pop up without me realising. Cheers and happy weekend ... Hilary
Rubber bands? Who knew?!!! Great idea. That would be a great name for a cat -- Gubbins.
We have a jar filled with rubber bands, enough to last two lifetimes, so storing them to last longer is not high on my agenda. As for the word, Gubbins, it is entirely new to me and it seems to be cheating to look it up in order to use it, so l’ll pass this time.
Never knew either of these.
Object of little value..hmm...Trump! I also have a ton of gubbins in my craft room...does that work for the other meaning?
I had no clue about elastics. I would have thought it would make it worse.
I had heard that about rubber bands but have completely forgotten!

It sounds like one of those British words I love, like 'gobsmacked'.
I should put my rubber bands in the fridge -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
