How else am I going to build up a first edition library? (JOKE) Remind me that I never want to move to Villas Las Estrellas.

I suspect that most of the Antarctic stations would want you to have your appendix removed. And possibly your tonsils too. A small price to pay.

Hi Sandra - The Book Thief book ... when being a biblioklept was a good idea ... but I could go to the Antarctic Station as those appendages are long gone ... but I hate the cold! Cheers Hilary

The biblioklept is a cereal box reader, which they will do at the breakfast table.
My appendix is ok, thanks. No need for removal. I suppose the point of it is about reducing emergency health care.

Within the dark recesses of my inner mind lurks a biblioklept, sometimes well hidden, but often dangerously close to the surface, ready to purloin and conceal. It’s probably a good things I am going to Antarctica for a two-year assignment, sans appendix. The books there will probably all reek of penguin guano anyway.

Once again, it's all new to me.

Well, I guess it makes sense to have those things removed...since the nearest specialty hospital is over 1,000 miles away...but I don't think I'll be worrying about it...lol

Yeah, I think I'll skip that trip to Antarctica and just stay home with the stolen book.

Fun word and fact.

Elizabeth, Heh:)Yeah, I don't think Antartica is my cup of tea either, though it might do wonders for my sinuses:)

EC, Makes sense, doesn't it?

Wow, I didn't know that but it makes sense! I work in healthcare and have seen how fast appendicitis can come out of nowhere and become an emergency! I imagine they want to avoid that kind of situation.

I think we all know those. It makes me very leery of loaning out books.

I definitely don't want to be anywhere where a hospital can't see me within a short time frame

Hey Hils, You've nailed them both. I'm with you. With or without the appendix, I don't think I'll be visiting Antarctica:)

Sandra Cox said...

Andrew, Good point. I'm guessing many biblioklepts are cereal box readers:)
And yes, that's why. They don't have emergency health care there.
