Ketch-Up Day

If you're a mom or stand-in mom, did you have a grand Mother's Day? I trust so. The HH and I went to the movies and saw Accountant II.  We haven't been to a theater since pre-covid. Would you care to take a guess at what the cost of two senior tickets, 1 popcorn and 2 drinks were?  If you guessed $55 and change, you would be correct.  I have to admit I did enjoy seeing Ben Affleck line dancing:)

AND

In the garden

Well, to my way of thinking Momma Fox Sparrow is a helicopter parent, I saw her out there feeding that baby who looked perfectly capable of doing so himself.  Even saw that little head bobbing at the ground a time or two. Even though Dad is helping out, she looks awfully worn down.

A little bit of a head scratcher.

My purple-blue hydrangeas

Now look like this.  The only thing I can think of is that the pine needles we put down may have changed the acidity of the soil.

In Hawaii

Thanks, Denise.

In Florida

Thanks, Shane.

Denise was kind enough to share her cyber action figure.  Have you made yours yet?

That's it for now, Blogger Buds.

I was blown away by the cost of a day out at the movies. Now I see why Netflix is so popular.

Your hostas are looking beautiful. Yes, it appears the hydrangeas acidity has changed. Lovely new statue.

Denise's cyber action figure is charming.

Hi Sandra - love hydrangeas ... always remind me of my early days and time in Cornwall. So glad you had a happy weekend ... we have a couple of film clubs here, as well as an avant garde cinema in the Towner Art Gallery, let alone the 'big one' in the main centre - which I never go to!! Denise's action figure is surprising ... wonderful - cheers and happy rest of May - Hilary

I don’t even know the last time I went to a movie theatre, or even watched a movie for that matter. The price would certainly deter me, but I have no interest in going anyway. For far less than the cost of your movies we can enjoy a local conservation area for the whole day. And that’s better than any movie - popcorn or not!

We went last December and it was almost forty-five for two tickets, two popcorns, and a drink at the matinee. Assigned seats have now ruined the experience further.
Sea turtle pictures are really good.

I love your purple and pink hydrangeas. I have a purplish/pink and lime green bush. And I don't go to the movies hardly ever because of the cost.

It seems difficult to keep hydrangeas blue. That was a nice array of photos.

Thanks for sharing my turtles and action figure(and idea for it!), Sandra. That is expensive, we only get tickets to the movies, I sneak our snack in my purse. The price of popcorn is too steep for me! I can confirm pine needles make pink color. Mine are all pink!

The cost of the theater is stunning, isn't it?
Thank you.The statues (Mother Nature and the rooster) were courtesy of the HH.
Charming is an excellent word for Denise's cyber action figure.
Hope your day is grand. Hugs

Those hydrangeas are so pretty in that pitcher. I sneak in a bottle of water and a baggie of nuts to the movie these days. Otherwise, who could go? I was surprised to hit a Tuesday matinee a couple of weeks ago and it was only $6. But when we took the boys a few weeks ago (no food) it was $36 -- and that was seniors and little guys!

I'm a hydrangea fan too, Hils. And wishing you a grand May as well. Cheers,

Their color is affected by the acidity in the soil, but my blue one is surrounded by pine and my pink-purple one is in dirt surrounded by lava rocks. Just the opposite of your colors!

I love that statue and your hydrangeas are so pretty. It is all about the acidity but I read that to get the blue, you need more acidity. I would like to do my action figure but scared that I might be giving too much in this scamming world. It’s aok from what you read right? I’d love to see what my figure would look like

Yup, you can change the color of your hydrangeas by changing the acidity of the soil. More acidity is blue and more base is pink. We never got food from the concessions when going to the movies as it was so expensive. We always went out to dinner or lunch instead. Your garden looks great. You should come here to help Himself landscape ours

David, Well you can't beat a day at a conservation area, that's for sure. Though, I would have popcorn withdrawals:)

Sandra Cox said...

Hi Alex, Isn't that sea turtle wondrous?
Movies at the theater are pricey for sure. Did you get to pick your own seats or did they do it for you?

Sandra Cox said...

Hey Natalie, Your hydrangeas sounds gorgeous. Especially, the pink and lime. I love those colors in hydrangeas. Your acidity level must be varied. Mine is certainly changing:)

Sandra Cox said...

Andrew, Something is changing the acidity of the soil and I can't figure out what. Maybe we aren't getting any acid rain? Heh.

Sandra Cox said...

Hi Adam, It is, isn't it?

Thanks, Christine.

Thank YOU for sharing, Denise.
Must be those pine needles then.
The price at the concession stands is steep for sure. Unfortunately, we are both addicted to popcorn:(

Jeanie, $6 not bad. I hear ya on the purse snacks. I had a bag of M&Ms in mine:)

Sandra Cox said...

Di, Isn't that wild?

Sandra Cox said...

Birgit, You are definitely right about the acidity. I just can't figure out what has changed my soil.
I get you on the scamming thing. I went to ChatGPT. They ask for a picture, to make it from and to list a few hobbies. Or items of interest.

CJ, You got it on the soil. Now to put on my Holmes hat and figure out why. I like that you went out to eat after the movies, kept the fun going:)
