It was a brilliant thought I had to stick fur to my feet, so as to be as silent and stealthy as a rabbit. A Biblioklept has to be very careful, after all. There are those who would rather have you steal their spouse than have you take a book. Some of them might even give you a few bucks to take him or her. But purloining books is honourable as well as dastardly. After all a book is a holy icon to many of us. Just ask Markus Zusak. He felt moved to write his own book about a young girl stealing books. If you get a chance to purloin that one, go ahead. As long as it’s not the copy on my shelf! Think I’ll keep Miriam, too.
A habitual book thief, I suppose.
I am not sure if I can trust you about rabbit feet.
I did not know tht about the rabbit…they must be a Hobbit’s best friend. My sister in law was a biblioklept. When hubby and came home from a vacation, I noticed something was off in my library. We called his sister to thank her and I asked if she took one of my books and she did! I asked for my book back because every single thing we lent her either went missing or was damaged when she returned it. In fact, we lent her. Book years ago and never got it back. When she came by to feed our animals, she locked herself out on our veranda and she kicked our door in, damaging it and left everything open for none to come in and steal stuff. She never apologized for anything. In fact, when I was adament she return my book, she asked if I would ask this of my best friend and I said yes. She said she felt sorry for me! Thankfully, she returned my book. If one would ask to borrow a book, depending who they are, I will gladly lend it, but I don’t like when they just take it.
Interesting
I was a bit of a biblioklept in my youth, but I am reformed, I swear!
A definite thumbs up, David. Spouse....Book.....
You are correct, Andrew. I get it about the rabbit's feet. That's why I always leave a link to check.
Yikes. Sorry you've had to deal with that, Birgit.
Glad you found it so, Christine;)

Jeanie, We're going to have to start putting them under lock and key;) You know what worries me more is libraries weeding out books published before 2000.
