Writerly Wednesday AND Did You Know

 What's your sentence, synonym or example for:


 

Example: You wouldn't believe all the foofaraw at dinner because I served tofurky instead of beef. 

AND 

 Did you know, in the 1830s ketchup was considered a medicine and used for digestive issues?

While I don't know the word, I do know the word foof, and its meaning seems to be similar by your example. I might say 'bother'.

Hi Sandra ... I'd rather have the real thing! Ketchup has an interesting history ... and yes back in the day ... funny things were recommended as medicine?!!?!?! I can't really easily say foofaraw!! Cheers Hilary

Foofaraw is a great word and new to me. I'd probably use fuss or fuss and bother. Someone needs to tell the felon in The White House that he shouldn't throw the red medicine on the walls.

Since Himself is a baseball fan (specifically the Boston Red Sox), I would use Brouhaha. I didn't know that about ketchup known in my family as Sauce Américain

There is just too much Foofaraw all over the walls in the White House. Never thought gold could look so tacky. I never knew that about ketchup..that’s just too funny.

ha - I didn't know that about ketchup. Back in 1830 it was probably more natural and better for you. Today, there is added sugars to make it taste better.
