Ketch-Up Day

As you know I've been whining, complaining  err, concerned about the drought. Now we've had so much rain, my Irises are rotting. The mandatory water restrictions are still in effect in the city and the county has reduced theirs to voluntary.

AND

That's it folks. Hopefully, cyber-see you tomorrow:)

What's going on in your neck of the woods?

I certainly got a chuckle from the video, Sandra. A physical barrier will often inspire bravery in humans, too. As for the rain, it’s all or nothing isn’t it? At least I always had enough to make my ice cubes. One has to rank things on a scale of importance!

Little guy showed him who was boss.
We never got to water restrictions but we've had a bit of rain the past few weeks so we should be all right now.

Your poor irises.

I'm glad you got some rain. We really need it too.

Been a few days since our last rain and my garden could sure use it. Watering every morning while it's 80 degrees is no fun.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Linda;)

Pleased you enjoyed the vid, David:) That's for sure about the barrier and the rain. AND Ice cubes definitely rank high on the scale of importance:)

I'm glad it didn't get that dry in your area, Alex. That's a blessing.

Sandra Cox said...

Indeed, Christine. Sigh.

It's rags to riches and back, isn't it, Natalie? How's your crepe myrtle?

Sandra Cox said...

No indeed, Di. I feel your pain on that one.

Drought broken by flooding rains. That sounds very Australian to me.

Its been dry for a couple of days but, the temperatures have been more tolerable. Rain may be coming in tomorrow. The trees are not faring well many of the leaves are turning brown and dropping off rather quickly. Probably from all the rain I think they have some sort of fungi infection.

Oh boy, its never just both but in a nice way where your flowers just bloom. I hope they revive.

Happy to send you a few buckets of rain when we get them later. Cleaning today. Tim has a 3-day weekend. Training the pup too. Going well. Though a lot more work then our last pups and so I've been working on my patience which, I gotta say, been very good.

Hey Jeanie, Do you have any irises?

Sandra Cox said...

I feel your pain, Andrew.

Thanks, JP:) Sending you hugs,

Isn't that cat a hoot,CJ. She reminds me a little bit of Calllie. Louie has a crush on her. He'll run over to try to cozy up to her. She slaps him down and he saunters off;)

Sorry to hear about your trees, True. Mother Nature has been particularly hard on the flora this year, hasn't she?

Sandra Cox said...

Hi Birgit, One good thing about Irises is that they're hardy, but they don't like their feet wet for too long.

Hey Ivy, Thanks for the rain. I think we're getting caught up:) Glad training is going well. And kudos on the patience, Patience pretty much goes on my New Year's resolution every year. Heh.
Hope you are still enjoying the long weekend.
