Whew! We are home! We went to a reception in MN for the kids. Two nights getting there. Two nights there. Two nights back. On the way up we spent the night with my aunt and uncle in southern Illinois then had lunch with the sibs in central Illinois then back on the road. Our goal was to stop about midway through WI for the night. On the other side of the Dells about 8:30 p.m. we decided to call it a night. Unfortunately we didn't take into account the Tractor Pull. Every hotel in town was booked. So we drove to the next town, and the next and the next. Same thing. We went through five towns with every hotel booked for the tractor pull. The next town it was a wedding and a baseball game. The town after that it was an aerial show. Finally, at two in the morning, we found a Motel 8 on the other side of Minneapolis that had one cancellation. We took it!

Who knew tractor pulls were so popular?
:-D Tractor pull. Who woulda thunk?
sounds like it was quite a tour :)
Wow, that sounds like a pain in the arse. Never knew tractor pulls were popular
Oh my head hangs low to think that a tractor pull would bring in all these people. If I mentioned Art museum, they would all look at me blankly & think I am the devil. Glad you finally found a motel. I hope is was not too divey
Oh my goodness! It's frustrating to be ready to find a hotel and rest for the night but to have to keep driving. I'm glad you finally found something.
By the way, thank you so much for reading my book and leaving a review on Amazon! I really appreciate it. :)
Not me......
Took the words right out of my mouth:)
Yup, that pretty much sums it up:)
My pleasure, Cherie. It was a good read.
Thanks, Birgit. Actually the hotel turned out to be better than some of the more popular chains. Whew.
That it was, Dez Dear, that it was.
Wow! Who'd thunk a tractor pull would bring in that many folks! That's crazy!
Agreed:)
Yikes, that's a lot. Glad you found a place. Did it come with a free breakfast in the morning and if so, was it good?
