Gone To The Dark Side
In a household of rabid Cub fans, I have managed to maintain my distance from baseball for the length of our marriage. Last week I broke down. I watched the Cubbies take down the Pirates 4-0 Wednesday night. And then instead of going out Friday we ordered a pizza and watched them lose to the Cardinals 0-4. Last night it was Burger King and watching them win over the Cardinals 6-3.
Tonight....hopefully we'll be clicking bats.

since MY team finished last (AND the worst team in all baseball for 2015), we are rooting for the cubbies. we KNOW youse guys are starved in the post-season. GO CUBBIES GO!
Oh dear. Can there be any return once you have lurched to the dark side?
Good luck.
Have a fun time on the dark side! Hugs, Valerie
Amazing how that can creep up on you. My husband loves football (both kinds: soccer and American football.) I have never been into sports, but . . . now I do look forward to the Superbowl each year.
Hey, they are so overdue to win anything.
My wife claims the dark side is the Yankees.
I'm a Tigers, Brewers, and Orioles fan - I haven't followed closely this year because of jobs and book work, so I'm not even sure who is left in the playoffs!
Hopefully the Cubs win to break their curse. :)
was it fun?
Have fun!
Hi, Sandra! I played baseball in an 8 to 12 league and a 13 to 15 league, sponsored by F.O.E. - the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Have a wonderful week, dear friend Sandra!
Great post Sandra, my son was soccer mad, played pro. until he had his ankle smashed in a game. I got fed up with soccer though.
Yvonne.
They cubs are sure due for a win
I know nothing about baseball, but my husband is rooting for the Cubs based on something that happened in Back to the Future 2? I believe there was some comment about 2015 being the year the Cubs finally won the World Series?
Congrats (I think?). I'll be candid in saying I don't really follow any sports but I do hope that you enjoy!
vs the Miami Marlins who didn't exist yet
Thanks, Anne Marie. So far, they're holding their own.....
We'll see, CJ. I'm still tiptoeing toward it. grin.
Thanks, Valerie. grin.
I'm with you, Elizabeth. I'm amazed I got sucked in.
Yup!
So you're a Yankees fan, Alex? :)
It's looking a little shaky at this very moment. We'll see.....
Hope you're still enjoying your job.
I think so....grin. Definitely more so when they win.
Hopefully:)
What about you, CJ. Do you follow any teams?
What fun. I bet you were a great ball player, Shady.
My brother is a true Baseball fanatic since he was a kid. In fact he worked for a magazine and wrote the backs of many baseball cards and also did the pricing of what the cards are worth. I, on the other hand, know there are 9 innings and they swing a bat at the ball. Right now Canada is Blue Jays crazy! Many people didn;t go to work on Friday to see the game...Jays lost. I think there is another game tonight but I will be watching Dancing With The Stars:)
OMG. Smashed his ankle. Sorry to hear that. Is he okay now?
Isn't that the truth, Pat.
Hi Steph,
Yeah, the hh remembered that scene the minute I mentioned it.
Sometimes if you can't beat 'em, you join 'em. I have embraced rugby league in the same way. I really enjoy it now. :-)
Did not know that, Adam.
I hear ya, Robert. This is a first for me. Except when my son played high school football. Loved going to the games then.
I bet your brother loved his job:)
Enjoy watching The Stars.
Glad you're enjoying it, Denise. My joining was many years in the making. grin.
Go Mets!
:)
