Did you know, Amelia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt were good friends and once ditched a Washington party to take a joyride/flight to Baltimore and back?
I didn't know that. What an interesting relationship that must have been. I wonder whose idea it was to ditch the party and go joy-riding. My guess is... Eleanor. :-)

I did know they were friends, but not that gem.
I also knew they were friends, but didn't know about that. Since Amelia was originally from KS, I tried to learn as much as I could about her.
I think people who are knowledgeable about Washington parties might think the flying alternative to attending one was a great idea.
