Good one, new to me -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
Not a word I knew. I know them as mondegreens.
I would blame phone auto correct.
I know several but only one comes to mind. I am not sure if it meets the eggcorn definition but some people for whatever reason say smokersbord instead of smorgasbord.
I didn’t know this term but I am so gu”Ty of this. One I did..a person had a grandkid and I wanted to write, “He’s a beautiful boy” but it came out as “ he’s a butful boy”
This is a new word for me! But something I should know, I think.
Based on your example only, I'd say "typo." Not unlike when "pubic broadcasting" got past three proofreaders.
Today my Alexa had a message for me - that there is a new book from Sandra Cox and she will add it to my reading list - that's service! Hugs, Valerie
I have never heard that term before. Hunh.
Christine, It was new to me too, but it's a fun one isn't it?
EC, Mondegreens is a new one for me, but I like it;)
Andrew, Smokersbord. I love it;)
Birgit, Well that's close to beautiful boy. Heh.
Elizabeth, It's an intriguing word. It means a misinterpretation that is acceptable:) Almost an oxymoron:)
Jeanie, Proofreading is tough. I go over my work till my eyes bleed. And there's four other sets of eyes on it. Invariably, something still slips through. Sigh.
Val, That is just too cool. Made my day:) Hugs received and returned.
Jacqui, I hadn't heard it before either, but it tickles me;)
Genial espero que tenfga mucha suerte con su libro. Te mando un beso.
