Did you know that when Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States, took office at age sixty-one, it made him the oldest president that had held the office to that point.
No, I didn't know this about him. I know that Reagan was about two weeks away from his 70th birthday when he took office in 1981. And I'm not going to get started on a certain former Pres.
I agree with Jeanie. If someone can do the job, I don't care how old they are. Age has only become an issue because of You-Know-Who. But he's 77 and already addled.

I expect some are now wishing that record had not been broken within the last decade.
US presidents always are old :D
We could use some younger, fresher blood.
It isn't the age, it's the ability!

I didn't know that one, Sandra ;) xo
Seems young at this point

Thank you, Sandra, for sharing that, that is something I did not know.
I didn't know that. Of course, life expectancy was not as long as it is now.
Love,
Janie
and I bet people weren't all over the fact that he was OLD! or that somebody opposite him was young only because he was 3 years younger.
Thanks to all for sharing your thoughts.
