Funambulist was a prompt in Words for Wednesday a few years ago - and had most of us rushing to the dictionary.
It may be sacrilege but I never warmed to Charles Dickens' work.
Hi Sandra - I knew I'd heard of the word ... but had to check out its meaning ... tightrope walker - not for me! I did know about Dickens' interest in the subjects appearing in the 1800s - he was curious ... cheers Hilary
Interesting on Dickens and a fun word -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
Ah, a tight rope walker. I never knew.
Dickens is boringly unreadable to me. I've tried. That he believed in paranormal further rates him lower for me.
Still more stuff I was never aware of!
I did not know he belonged to a paranormal society. Interesting. I'm not surprised though. :-)
I know more about Dickens than funambulists! Hugs!
EC, Good memory. I bet there was a lot of rushing to the dictionary:) Not sacrilege at all.
Hils, Good on you for looking it up. Nothing wrong with being curious, is there:)
Glad you thought so, Christine:)
Andrew, I blush to admit I've never read Dickens.
Jamie, Your Wed Stuffoids:) Heh
Val, Heh;) Hugs received and returned.
Haha I had to confirm with the dictionary but, your photo left a clue. Fun word to say.
Si lo sabía. Te mando un beso.
si lo sabía te mando un beso.
I didn't know that about Dickens
Yes, but I didn't remember the name of the club.
Happy weekend!

True, Good on you for tracking down the meaning;)
Thanks, J.P. Sending you a hug.
Adam, I found his fascination with the paranormal interesting.
Good job, Donna! Hugs received and returned.
I can't believe that I knew what that word meant when it popped up there! It's a great word (although I'm not sure that would be fun for me!)
Debi,Given what he's written, it does make sense, doesn't it?
These tightrope walkers must love the thrill. I could never do this.. I knew Darwin was into the paranormal..very popular during that time but I didn’t know about the Ghost society.
Birgit, Being a klutz and afraid of heights, tightrope walking would definitely not be my chosen profession.
Paranormal never goes out of style does it?
Woot. Woot. Way to go, Jeanie.
