Did you know, New Year's Eve/New Year is the drunkest night of the year? And on a more sober note 😀, did you know that if you eat 365 black-eyed peas it's supposed to bring you good luck throughout the year?
Happy New Year to you, Sandra. May it be filled with great joy, good health, scudding clouds, gentle rain, bird song, shrimp cocktails and fine wine. David xo
Happy New Year! I’m not surprised that it’s the drunkest night of the year and, in the past, I would have been one but, tht ship has past. In fact, last night I was watching a movie and realized it was 12:02! Oh well…lol. I was recalling one of the many parties my parents gave on New Year’s and seeing my dad drunker than a Skunk. He was very happy..before he met the porcelain god.
Happy New Year to you and yours ... yes I can believe it's the 'drunkiest' night of the year - though I had a little! Wecome 2026 - to a healthier and kinder year for many of us ... and I do look forward to the Spring blooms - just have to wait a while! Cheers and all the very best - Hilary
Happy New Year! I did know that eating black-eyed peas was good luck to eat on the first of January, but didn't know that it should be 365. I'm sure I did eat that many, especially with my homemade cornbread, but I haven't had them in many years as I live in Mexico and I can't find them here either fresh or canned. Oh, wait...I did have them one year when I visited my daughter in Austin, TX.

No big surprise people get drunk the most on New Year's Eve. I've been stating at home on that night, since a few years before the pandemic.
Not a surprise about the bender night. Have a Happy and Creative New Year
Thank you for those lovely wishes. Scudding clouds--I love it. Happy New Year, David.
I hear ya. Happy New Year, Birgit.
Here's to a healthy kind 2026. Cheers, Hils.
We stay home too, Jamie. Happy New Year.
Thanks, CJ. Love the Creative and right back at ya.
And to you, Christine:)
I wouldn't doubt that! Wishing you a very Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I'm not surprised it's the drunkest night of the year. Princess and I stayed at home. She drank water and I had a glass of milk.
Love,
Janie

Greetings, Janie. You can't beat water and milk:)
Jan, Good wishes received and reciprocated.
Happy new year, Sandra. We don't normally eat black eyed peas. I don't even know what they are.
Thank you, JP. Hope yours was good. Hugs
Happy New Year, Andrew. It's a Southern thing. They're an off-white bean with a black spot on them.
