Whew! We dodged a bullet. We got sleet, ice and snow, in our area, but it could have been soooo much worse.
Churches were closed Sunday. Thousands were out of power in the mountains. There were over a thousand flight cancellations at the Charlotte airport. And as of Monday, statewide, there were over 700 road accidents. Ice is still an issue at night when the temp drops, but overall--here--it 's much better than it could have been. AND we're a day closer to spring....
What's it like in your neck of the woods, Blogger Buds? Did you get smacked or did Nature behave herself?

It is interesting that you said churches were closed, right at the beginning. No one here would care about that at all, and if it was mentioned, it would probably be 'places of worship', which would include mosques and temples. Does Masie like going out in the snow? The snow looks quite pretty, even if slushy.
It's just nasty and icy here...can't wait for Spring!

Here it has been cold, but other than that not too bad really. Snow has been a problem in some areas but we are prepared for winter and face it with stoicism each year. After all if we didn’t have the weather to kvetch about, what would we do?
Wish we'd seen a bit more snow. Mostly ice. And might see more this weekend!

I'm glad you're surviving the cold weather. It's bitterly cold and snowy in Michigan. At least next week, we'll get into the 20s. I'm glad we're almost to February because it's got to get warmer in March.
Considering what veryone else got, nature was kind. We got some snow but only abut an inch at a time and very light, so easy for Rick to shovel. The big thing has been the cold. But no ice. It's only January. But I'll take it. Daffodils are notoriously resilient. You may well be OK.
Toronto got a historic amount of snow! Glad you are ok, ice is the worst.

We're still a bit buried here, but we didn't get the 18 inches that was predicted because some of it came as ice and snow-- which is horrible stuff.

I had daffodils and tulips coming up. I don't know what will happen to them because it's unusally cold in Florida after heavy rain Sunday night. The high today was in the 40s and overnight lows all week will be in the 20s and 30s. My son and DIL in Chapel Hill were iced in for a couple of days and it's very cold there.

We had 17.5 inches of snow and bitter cold temps. Fortunately, we didn't have heavy winds and the snow was not heavy and wet. We did not lose electricity. The Eldest was able to stay over at the hospital where she works for two nights because the roads were so bad. 144 days until the Summer Solstice
Even sleet and slushy rain can look pretty. They are calling from 3-8 inches in our area this weekend. (Last weekend we only had ice on trees and grass.)
