Monday

So who went to see the 4th of July fireworks over the weekend? Show of hands. We hadn't been in several years, but this year we popped popcorn to take with us and toddled on into town. It was pouring down rain. We were in the car so it wasn't a big deal. It was a new experience: watching  them burst into color through the rivulets of rain running down the windshield.

If you're interested here are some wonderful pictures of women 's contributions to the WWII War Effort. :http://news.yahoo.com/photos/wwii-women-and-the-war-effort-slideshow/
Thanks, Sonya, for bringing this link  to my attention.

A shame about the rain. We don't usually get to displays down this end of the world. Our big ones are around 5th November.

What great photos. Have you seen the TV show (I think it's Canadian) called Bomb Girls. That's what these pictures reminded me of.

that;s interesting, I didn't know people can fire fireworks even during rain.

Us Canadians did them 3 days earlier. But still didn't watch, haha

Hey Shelley, I haven't seen Bomb girls. Those photos were amazing weren't they. They all had character in their faces and some were just cute as buttons.
