Did you know, Thomas Jefferson was an inventor and among his inventions were dumbwaiters and concealed devices that would open doors in his Monticello home?
Monticello sounds like an interesting place. I must look it up. Ah, there a lot of Monticellos in the US. I like my waiters to have the ability to speak 😉
The creation of the first Smart Home seems pretty cool, and I did not know this. Hope you are doing well. I keep waking up in NC, and when I get up from my daily naps later in the day, I've time-traveled to Florida. (lol) Hugs, RO

I didn't. Clever, clever man (and I am smiling at the clever man who commented immediately above me).
I knew the first part, but... not the second one 🤷♂️
Well...how about that!!!
I never knew this before! Hugs, Valerie
I find this man interesting. He did a lot during his lifetime. Shame he owned slaves and is considered bad because of this which, no kidding.
I actually did know that but had forgotten a bit! What a mind.

Uy que interesante, gracias por el dato. Te mando un beso
Yes, I'm having problems warming up to him because of the slavery issue and I'm not sure how kind he was to his animals.
He did have wide and varied interest, didn't he, Jeanie?
My pleasure, J. P. I'm sending you a hug:)
Indeed:)
Got FL on your mind, huh? :)

We visited Monticello long ago, which was fun and interesting. I think I remember the dumbwaiter, but I don't recall devices that opened doors.
Love,
Janie
Oh, interesting that he invented these!
For sure:)
I haven't been to Monticello. I'd love to visit.
Oh really? Hmmmm 2 strikes
I'm fascinated by his inventions, though:)
It is, isn't it?
Fascinating! Makes me want to create a story inside Monticello with all the little concealed devices as part of the plot.
I didn't know ...
All the best Jan
Ooh, that would be a fun, intriguing read.
I'm not sure, I like him, but he is intriguing isn't he, Jan?
I didn't know this! Very cool! Big Hugs!
