It's Ketch-up Day

How's your week going? We are still raking and hauling to the curb:)

 AND

A little cost comparison.

Have the rest of you encountered sticker shock at restaurants?

We met some friends for breakfast the other day.  With tip, the total was close to $50. For two breakfasts. Picture me clutching my heart and reeling backwards. Then we met a friend a few days later for lunch. (Honestly, there are things we do besides eat. Like rake leaves. Hehe.) Anyhoo, we went to a little Italian restaurant in town. Picked up the tab for the three of us and with tip, it was only $30.   I had a piece of veggie pizza shown below.  It's hard to tell from the picture but the slices of pizza are gargantuan. I'd already eaten a portion of it. It's served on a small platter instead of a plate.

AND

From the garden

 AND

The critters

That's all folks.

Loving your garden and your critters. It is literally years since I have eaten out.

I love the last photo. We know each other but we aren't great friends. Even in our high cost money, $50 for two seems like a lot for breakfast. Three for dinner at $10 each sounds way too cheap.

Where did you eat for lunch that cheap? There is no place here that cheap! Thirty bucks for two is even a stretch.

I'm glad all's well with your garden and critters.
As for eating out, things are quite expensive in my neck of the woods, so I try to keep away from it.

Yes! The prices at the restaurants are nuts. We went out to a restaurant for a birthday dinner and this restaurant used to have great food. My calamari was good but my chicken wings were fatty! I never had that before. My hubby's steak was not the best..tough. they have not cleaned their place..it looks tired. The one friend wanted a glass of wine...$13! We had an $80 charge! On a much nicer note, love the flowers especially your last rose.

I was just saying to Himself that going out for lunch is getting real expensive. Personally, I think all of the price hikes are pure greed. We don't have to rake leaves anymore. It snowed!

Your one kitty is reading!

We have a favorite Chinese take-out place and we used to get two giant meals with extras for $25. It now costs over $40 for the same food. But I get it, they have to make money, too.

Prices for food have gone up a lot here, too, and in restaurants it's the same, it costs more and more....
So glad to see your cat reading!
Hugs, Valerie

Even McD's is expensive now

I agree the cost of restaurants is getting more and more expensive by the day. Supplies and overhead cost more, so the restaurants have to charge more.

Love your garden shots. I mulch. I don't rake. All the fur babies look so content. Have a great ketch up day, dear Sandra. Did you get my e-mail? Yes or no will suffice.

EC, We don't eat out much these days unless we are meeting buds. Glad you liked the critter and garden pics. Take special care.
Andrew, I guess that means I don't have to take you out to dinner. Hehe. Glad you liked the last photo:)
Alex, Amalfi's. I highly recommend it.
Duta, I get it.
Birgit, Ouch! I feel your pain.

I love your critter pictures. Yes, restaurant prices have gone up. That sounds like a lot for breakfast.

My family did a lot of eating out when a relative was over last weekend. Yes, it gets expensive and the settings are often noisy, as the case with one restaurant that had relocated after the original building was destroyed in a fire. And the very relative also helped trim trees and clean up leaves in the driveway.

Diane, He does enjoy his books:)
Val, He's a Craig Johnson fan. Hehe.
Christine, You're right. They've gone up too. Sigh.
Elizabeth, If you can avoid raking that's great. Yes. Thank you.
Natalie, It's crazy. Glad you like the critter pics.
Jamie, Yay. Good on your relative.

Yes, definitely sticker shock at restaurants. (Of course, when you go to the store, there's sticker shock there, too.) There's all that plus the tip and some places even add a service charge (that isn't the tip). It's way out of control.
