Ketch-up Day

How are you? How is your week going?

Okay, I'm going to start out with playing the blatant grandparent bragging card:)  The eleven-year-olds participated in an entrepreneurship camp last week at ECU. They were some of the youngest members there, most of the participants being high school students.  They had to develop an idea for a product, create a proposal and make a presentation.  The winner getting a thousand dollars.  The little girl won  😀 The HH and I are so thrilled. (I was also pleased with her brother's proposal. I thought it was a good one:)

AND

I finished my latest garden project: get rid of the grass and weeds around the grapevine and lay down mulch and pavers.

Let me tell ya, it was hard to get out of this chair, lots of obstacles in my way, but I managed:)

 AND

Beautiful Canada.

Thank you, Ralph.

That's it from here. What's going on in your neck of the woods, friends?

Ketch-Up Day

Moonlight glistened on water

Serenity filled his soul

Fear for the World's fate faded

As hope took form once more

Ketch-up Day

Greetings Blogger Buds. Did you catch any of the storm? As you can see, we got some snow and ice, but were very, very lucky.

To our friends in California, you are constantly in our thoughts.

I stewed some apples in the crock pot the other day. Not too bad and easy peasy--which is always a prerequisite for me 😀 Just toss in some sliced apples, butter, sugar and cinnamon and let them stew. Pecans optional.

I was very pleased to get this painting from my daughter for Christmas:) Her eye for detail always amazes me.

AND

Some critter pics.

Frank still re-cooping from the holidays.

Where's Nori....

Remember this little girl? A rescue in Virginia took her and she has a new home. I'm so pleased.

AND

From Colorado

Thanks, Julie

AND

Last but not least

A couple of Belated Happy Birthday Shout-outs.

Ketch-up Tuesday

 Greetings, Blogger Buds.

How much would you pay for a pair of gloves?

So, I saw a cute pair of gloves on Etsy. Didn't need them but they had cats and flowers, need I say more?:) So I clicked on the link, saw the price and mentally reeled back, clutching my heart. Go on, guess. How much do you think they were?

One hundred and twenty-eight dollars. $128.00.

Didn't see that one coming.  Needless to say, I decided I could do without kitty/flowers gloves.

AND

Another critter pic provided by my SIL.

AND

I've been playing in the rocks. Though, I must say, given the heat it wasn't one of my better ideas.

Note how sparse the grass is. Spring it was lush. The heat is just devastating the grass and plants.  I give it a light sozzle every night, but it's just not enough.

Got dogs? Expensive gloves? Rocks? Rain?

Monday-Tuesday

Digging his way to China.
Frank is the only cat I know that's trying to dig his way to China.
First he dug up the Irises.

Then he pushed the bricks out of his way that were positioned behind the Irises to keep him from digging under the fence...and dug his way out.

I'm still trying to figure out how he moved those bricks. Though we did have a cat (who inspired Shardai) that would drag around a five pound weight by the rope it was attached too. Oh yes, and periodically knocked over the sectional couch.

AND.... Still growing. The bee balm is up to my chest. It's time to stop streaking skyward and concentrate on blooming:)
Hostas…

AND....I spent my weekend with this little guy and his sibs and mom, while the HH and our son went to see the Cubs play in Washington D.C. Cubs won one. Lost one.

Monday-Tuesday

Chain of Command
Do you follow the chain of command? Our dog does. When it's time to go out, she comes to me. I in turn prod the HHo to take her out. Chain of command.😀

AND...
From the Garden.

The winter kale survived.

The tulips are thriving.

Monday-Tuesday

THIS AND THAT
Over the weekend my tulips started popping open.
The second and third picture are of the same tulip taken two hours apart.

AND...

I received a lovely review on Montana Shootists. It stood out to me for two reasons:  The reviewer mentioned she wasn't much on writing reviews but had fun and wanted to share AND  since she was in the military there were aspects of the story she could relate to.  Always good to know when writing on something that you've researched but haven't experienced first hand. Whew.

AND...

My brother, who had been readmitted to the hospital for liver problems again, was released over the weekend. Any prayers and positive energy for him are appreciated.

AND...

My daughter and SIL are buying their first house. Very exciting.

AND....

I had surgical removal of an erupted tooth and a bone graft in my mouth last week and the HH did a remarkably great job as caregiver. Yes, I am ready for some solid food:) Heh.
