Ketch-Up Day

Did you have a good weekend? Having a good week?

I'd like to share with you an experience a wildlife rehabber I know had years ago.

She had taken in a litter (passel) of orphaned possums. One of the youngsters became friends with the dog. They ate together, slept together, and played together. Friends.

When it was time to re-home the possums, she took them into the woods and let them go. The little possum who was friends with the dog came back. This happened several times before it finally acclimated to the wilds and wasn't seen again.

A couple of years later the dog died unexpectedly and they buried it on the property. That evening, at twilight, my bud (the rehabber) looked out the window and to her stunned surprise saw the possum sitting on the grave.

I have to believe it came to say goodbye to its old friend.

Monday-Tuesday

Digging his way to China.
Frank is the only cat I know that's trying to dig his way to China.
First he dug up the Irises.

Then he pushed the bricks out of his way that were positioned behind the Irises to keep him from digging under the fence...and dug his way out.

I'm still trying to figure out how he moved those bricks. Though we did have a cat (who inspired Shardai) that would drag around a five pound weight by the rope it was attached too. Oh yes, and periodically knocked over the sectional couch.

AND.... Still growing. The bee balm is up to my chest. It's time to stop streaking skyward and concentrate on blooming:)
Hostas…

AND....I spent my weekend with this little guy and his sibs and mom, while the HH and our son went to see the Cubs play in Washington D.C. Cubs won one. Lost one.

Monday-Tuesday

THIS AND THAT
Over the weekend my tulips started popping open.
The second and third picture are of the same tulip taken two hours apart.

AND...

I received a lovely review on Montana Shootists. It stood out to me for two reasons:  The reviewer mentioned she wasn't much on writing reviews but had fun and wanted to share AND  since she was in the military there were aspects of the story she could relate to.  Always good to know when writing on something that you've researched but haven't experienced first hand. Whew.

AND...

My brother, who had been readmitted to the hospital for liver problems again, was released over the weekend. Any prayers and positive energy for him are appreciated.

AND...

My daughter and SIL are buying their first house. Very exciting.

AND....

I had surgical removal of an erupted tooth and a bone graft in my mouth last week and the HH did a remarkably great job as caregiver. Yes, I am ready for some solid food:) Heh.

Monday-Tuesday

How was your weekend, blogger buds? I trust it was relaxing, productive and fun. We finally got to celebrate Christmas, and their birthdays, with the kiddos. So, of course, ours was good:)
AND....
Last week, I received not one but two lovely surprises in the mail.
A Christmas card from our blogger bud and calligrapher extraordinaire, CJ Kennedy. My photo doesn't do it justice.
Verse Inside
Is this not purrfect? Thank you so much, CJ. I love it.

Bleubeard and Elizabeth sent me this beautiful wall hanging.

One of the things I really like about this hanging is the subtly. That small, four letter word on the hanging says as much as the picture itself.  Thank you so much, Elizabeth. I love it.

AND....
This arrived yesterday from Ro.  A happy  journal and lovely card.

Thank you. I am truly blessed to have such great blog friends.
AND....
The Garden in January.
As you can see, the kale's doing well. It's the second winter for the white kale, which is surprising.
The Christmas/Lenten Roses are almost blooming.

AND.....
What is wrong with this picture?
I've had to deal with unpleasantness in Januaries of the past but never dandelions. Good grief!

AND....
Condolences to the Bears' Fans. :(
