It's Tuesday

 So Blogger Buds,

Or in your garden?

AND...It's a dog's life.

AND...Poems and Paintings

The Arts Council had a gallery showing based on poems.  Two artists chose one of  the HH's.

Remembering a snow scene

The snowflakes fell steadily

Out of a pewter sky.

I stood at the edge of a meadow,

Just outside of the tree line.

There wasn’t even a hint of wind

To rustle some dried limbs.

Nor the flutter of wings

Or stutter of a squirrel.

If not for the falling snow,

It would have been as if

I stepped into some artist’s landscape

Hanging on the wall

Of someone’s entryway.

The total lack of sound

Created its own kind of

Sensation: the rotation

Of the earth as it hurled

Through the universe.

After forty years

The scene still lives

As pristine as ever

At the center

Of my consciousness.

What's on your desk? Got flowers? Dogs? Spoiled critters? Poems? Paintings?

No flowers on my desk, but I have two very needy cats. I loved the paintings and your husband's poem. Seems talent abounds in your family, dear.

Hi Sandra - I'd definitely have a cat around, if there was one or a dog at my feet - at least they're loyal and don't cause me trouble!! HH's poem 'Remembering a Snow Scene' ... I'd rather not at the moment ... but it's always beautiful. HH is very clever to be able to craft poems ... congratulations to you both - Hilary

Huge congratulations to HH.
Your family has cornered the market in talent hasn't it?
There are flowers here, but Jazz objects, so they probably won't stay. Cats rule.

We have an electronic photo display and I always have a slideshow running of our various holidays. It is nice to remember.

I don't have a desk anymore. My laptop and I move around my house during the day while I work.

I didn't even attempt tomatoes this year as the last two years produced next to no tomatoes. However, my acorn squash and jalapenos have gone crazy.

Pretty garden photos mine is looking dry the past few days no rain all of a sudden.

I adore that poem. It's so evocative of the winters I know and the times I love them best (fewer times I enjoy them, but that's one!)

I came home from the lake last night so my temporary desk is the dining room table and it's covered with mail that arrived while I was gone. Lizzie was a pretty good car cat but I don't think we'll be able to use yesterday's ploy to get her in the car next time! And flowers? Running rampant!

I put some pictures of my sunflowers on my blog last Friday.

I love that poem and its setting between the 2paintings is perfect. It reminds me of the Robert Frost poem. My desk..hahahaaa...has my laptop, papers, my card making stuff, glues, tapes, day calendar paper towels..a lot. Our garden is so pretty but too hot to sit there. Have a beautiful day. Our Wallace says hi

How cool to have HE'S lovely poem recognized, and much deserved 👏. My desk is a disaster right now with 1 scrapbook case overflowing with stickers, three washing tapes, the printer, scribbled notes, scratch tickets that were thrown away by someone else, and some mail. Only one thing survived in the garden, and that's mint. Another fun post that I love Super Sandra!😍 Hugs 🤗

That was supposed to say HH, not HE. So sorry 😞

Loved the pictures and poem. He captured the snowy silence so perfectly. I was standing next to him seeing it too! Xo

Cats rule indeed, especially when it comes to flowers. None on the dining room table or desk here either.

I do everything on a smartphone so I no longer need a desk

Right there with ya, Natalie. Though, if I had a good spot I wouldn't mind having one again.

I didn't attempt tomatoes either. Mine popped up in the mulch pile. Heh.
Oh, I love acorn squash. Enjoy some for me:)

Sandra Cox said...

I here ya. After a respite, I'm going to have to start watering again. Sigh.

Glad you liked the poem:)
Fool Lizzie once, shame on you. Fool Lizzie twice, shame on Lizzie:)

Is that Frank? Looks like he found a comfy corner. Congrats to HH. On my desk, assorted art supplies, a journal, one of the peace lilies that got transplanted, Godzilla, a solar dancing Halloween kitty, and my writing gloves.

Glad you like it, FSG:)
Cats do own the desks, among all the rest of the furniture, don't they?
My garden is winding down too. Unfortunately, the weeds are still thriving:)
Take special care.

Zinnias, tons of them, so colorful. Nothing says summer like zinnias. Well, maybe sunflowers and black-eyed Susans too. And then there are blue cornflowers plus.....!!!
