Sharpie shoes. Here we had Sharpie gangs and Mods gangs. I think in England they had Teddy Boy gangs, for one and I can't remember the other. I think it was the Sharpies who wore winklepickers.

Hi Sandra - I was surprised to see the picture of the shoes against the post title of 'winkle-pickers' - I'd have put them with Teddy Boys (1950s) ... mens' shoes with long toes ... based on medieval shoe types. Love those high heels - but most definitely not for me (ever!) ... cheers Hilary
