I hadn't heard this word before. My books rarely involve umbrellas of any sort, but if they did, I'd probably stick with that ordinary word. This is a fun on though (makes me wonder about the origin.) Thanks for the fun, Sandra. :-)
Now that's quite the word for umbrella. I can't help but recall when Princess Diana and Sarah took their umbrellas to bumbleshoot the guys in front of them They kept pooling their bumbles. I know..bad of me

I think I prefer umbrella or brolly to bumbershoot - a word I did not know.
Brolly for me. I hadn't heard of bumbershoot. It sounds a little rude to me, probably because it begins with bum.
