Calendar of Events

I'm back....
Whew, the holidays have been busy. No doubt for you too.
24th: Our anniversary
Ordered in, exchanged gifts and listened to Christmas music. Nice:)
25th: Christmas
Served Christmas lunch and exchanged gifts with the fam.
26th: The Twins 2nd Bday.
Had twenty-some-odd people over and was awash in carnage.
27th: Exchange day for presents that didn't fit.
Customer service in department stores has just about gasped its last breath.
Most of my gifts came without receipts. All I wanted was exchanges, no returns, but even that was exhausting. Anthropologie was the easiest to deal with. You just show some form of identification and make your exchange. Track N Trail was fine. Though I did have the receipt for this one, so that helped. I'm a Belkie girl but Belks was a bit of a disappointment. I didn't have the receipt or the tags so that's a definite ding, but still I just wanted to exchange sizes for the exact item. I know clerking isn't a fun job on the day after Christmas but a couple of the clerks were less than cordial. One in particular. Even though I was making the exact exchange for a different size, I had to run back to the other end of the store and get the exact size I was exchanging or she'd have to call her manager for approval, which would have been easier. The good news: it's in the rear view mirror now:)
28th: UHaul Day
The twins made such a haul between Christmas and their birthday, we had to load up the RAV with toys and follow their parents home:)
29th and Today:
What's your days been like while I've been gone, blogster buds?
Isn't this weather something? Hope you aren't in the rain or snow band. Flood watch here.
12:30 p.m.  Just upped to flash flood warning.
3:30 p.m. It's stopped raining. Whew.

Goodness you have been busy. Thankfully I have not.
Quiet days mostly. Which suits me just fine. I haven't been near a shop for over a week. Voluntary work, domestic duties, reading...

Wow, anniversary, Christmas, birthdays - that's a lot in just three days!
Sorry you had to deal with returns. That's why I don't buy clothes for anyone but my wife. And I'm pretty confident I know her size.
Have a wonderful New Year - see you next week.

Christmas is crazy enough--it's even worse when you have something else on top of it, like an anniversary! Happy anniversary! My mom and stepdad got married four days after Christmas, so every other year they do a getaway to combine Christmas and their anniversary in one big celebration.

Hi, dear Sandra!

Mrs. Shady and I spent much of Christmas Day in another city visiting our 7 month old grandson. It was a joy to watch him experience his first Christmas.

On the 27th I stood in line for eons to exchange 13 unwanted fruitcakes. :) Next year, may I re-gift them to you? :)

Happy Wednesday, dear friend Sandra!

Thank you for dropping by my blog and leaving me a comment, and for becoming a follower!!!
Sounds like a busy and exciting time was had at your house this Christmas. Christmas exchanges are only topped by Black Friday in "my" book....ugh!!! We usually wait until the following week, ya, sometimes we miss out.....but we come home with all our hair still on our heads.....LOL
Happiest New Year to you and your family.

Our post-Christmas week has been taking advantage of leisure time before life gets busy again: time to read, taking short rides. The small, slow, simple things. Best wishes for a happy, healthy, prosperous year ahead.

In mid writing I hit a button and exited out of the internet-grrrrr. It looks like you had a hectic but loving time with family. You should write a letter about your treatment at your favourite store...you never know what the results may be. the 24th-celebrated in the day with my mom-we were all there since Christmas Eve is when we celebrate. We have a small family so it was just myself, my hubby, my brother, his daughter and her girlfriend. After they came to our place where we had turkey (my hubby made dinner) and then we unwrapped the gifts. The 25th, my hubby and I left some gifts for that morning to unwrap and then we went to his sister's. 26th-Zzzzzzzzzz-watched movies. 27th-I love calendars so I bought 2 more and had to exchange pajamas my hubby got me. I told him my size but NO buttons! He got buttons-the problem? My boobs are big and the buttons pop. One wash and that will be it. the 28th-Visited my mom, book shopping (a book outlet store where all was 1/2 price-great deals!) and visited my best friend. Left early since we had a bad storm with freezing rain. Grocery shopping yesterday and today-getting the wrapping paper all ready for next year(I save) and reading.

It has been busy here too! Plus, I have work all week this week- adding to the craziness. Glad you had so much fun with family over the holidays and celebrations. :) Love the picture of the 29th!

That's a great idea.

They did indeed get a haul. grin.
I trust your holiday was perfect.

Keep safe from the floods. Hope it doesn't do damage where you are.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

And to you, dear Dez.

Sandra Cox said...

Thank you, Olivia Rose. Thank goodness the rain has just about stopped here. It sounds horrific in St. Louis, though.

Sandra Cox said...

Sounds like you're doing really well if she's never had to take anything back. My problem is sizes very from brand to brand and even then its not always a given. I've got XS's in my closet and L's. grin.

Sandra Cox said...

That's the plan. Hope you have a great one, Hillary.

Sandra Cox said...

Thirteen fruitcakes, seriously? Or are you picking with me? And how kind of you to offer to re-gift them to me. grin.

Sandra Cox said...

Not fair. The days between Christmas and New Years should be considered holidays or at least vacation. Hope it slows down for you, Jess.

I like the all quiet in Philly, not a creature stirring not even a mouse:)

It must be in the genes, most hubbies seem to be gift challenged. I had moccasins on my list, along with the size. The clerk recommended going a half a size up because of the lining. He went a half a size down thinking he'd went a half a size up. Shaking head. He made some interesting choices this year. How nice of your hubby to fix dinner. Mine fixed the chicken. It was that or pick up a braised one at the grocery store. He decided to fix it. I had faux chicken:) All in all, it sounds like you had a great holiday.

Sandra Cox said...

Sounds lovely. Thanks for the well wishes and I wish you the same.

Sandra Cox said...

Very good point on waiting a week, Krisha. I was afraid everything would be gone, but I'm not sure it was worth it. Next year I may take a page out of your book.
