It's Monday and The Word For The Day Is Cursor

No not cursing, but whatever works.
Cursor: 'Computers. a movable, sometimes blinking, symbol that indicates the position on a CRT or other type of display where the next character entered from the keyboard will appear, or where user action is needed, as in the correction of an erroneous character already displayed.' Dictionary.com

Does anyone else get faked out by the cursor? I start typing thinking the cursor is where its supposed to be and 'poof' I'm typing somewhere completely different. Does this happen to anyone else? Yes, my computer is smarter than I am.

I hate typing on my laptop. If I accidentally rest my wrists on the edge of the laptop, all the writing disappears. I also have the habit of sometimes striking the Caps Lock key for the letter "a". I think the laptop is haunted.

Barnes & Noble does this to me all the time when I have to log in. I see the cursor in the password box, but then I start typing in my password and the cursor moves to my username.

It also happens on my Word document, too. But the worst is how my insert key gets turned off when I'm no where near it! Next thing I know, I'm overwriting instead of inserting. So now I'm not only fixing the wrong sentence, I'm wiping out what I had written. Thank goodness for UNDO!!

It always screws me up. Has a mind of its own.

What? It's the cursor. I thought there was a magical creature inside my laptop.

Whew, thanks ladies, glad to know it's not just me.
I think Shelley may be on to something with that magical creature thing.
